The Queue: are we forgetting something?

After all that palling around with all the light users on Azeroth, I can’t help but feel there are a few important characters we forgot to consult. Hm. I’m sure it’s nothing.

This is The Queue, our daily column where you ask us questions and we’ll give you answers but they might only be applicable in an easily-accessed alternate universe.

RED

Have you leveled through all the Midnight zones yet? If so, which was your favorite? Any general thoughts on them?

I have not yet gone through Zul’Aman, but as a Blood Elf main, the nostalgia hit and general feels from a restored Eversong are so freaking good.

Though I will say that as I was all “aw, Sal’theril’s Haven” at the same time I had kind of a nagging thought of how every other race, especially Alliance, is clueless at best. There’s definitely some degree of universal appeal here, even if all you want to do is pet dogs and cats. But you’re not getting all teary about revisiting a restored Tranquillien and Ghostlands.

I will say that, after spending a lot of the last expansion underground, and the clunkiness of travel, I’m not sure how much time I’m going to be spending in Harandar. I’m also annoyed at how no matter how I spell Harandar and Harronir (Harenir? Horanir?) it looks like I spelled it wrong, even after I look it up.

ARTHONOS

Q4tQ: Do you think the WoW playerbase has matured enough to tolerate asymmetrical development? Like if Blizzard said they would be adding Eversong woods as a neighborhood for the Horde at the end of Midnight, but promised Alliance would get a new neighborhood in Last Titan, would players accept it or throw a fit?

Despite what I said above about adoring Eversong, I do feel like this expansion is kinda like that, honestly. Obviously Horde and Alliance both get to experience everything in all the zones, but like I said, I’m not sure it would resonate as well if I was a Draenei being all “Kronokai Cristor, Mr. Farstrider.” And they have done patches that are like that in the past, of course. There’s always the infamous Troll Raid to consider.

But to completely gate it off, and say “one side doesn’t get anything at all right now” would be weird.

KALCHEUS

Q4tQ When do you plan to level your first alt in Midnight?

Probably never! I have too much to do and too little playtime.

After I finish leveling, my next to-do item is decor. I have so much decor to go back and get, and though I adore Delves for their ease of access and time constraints, even so, doing enough for a decent set of Vault draw is a considerable time commitment. Plus, because this job is about content creation and generation, much of my playtime is interrupted by doing things like turning off nameplates and positioning my bear and doing a transmog and taking a screenshot, then drafting a social media post and whoops, good thing I have a bear because I definitely got attacked while AFK because I haven’t unlocked steady flight yet.

I recognize that this isn’t a universal problem most players have. And yet.
