When does Diablo 4 Season 13 start? Prepare for it coming with Lord of Hatred on April 28!

Diablo 4 season 12 ends Tuesday, April 28, 2026 with the launch of Lord of Hatred, and season 13 kicks off immediately after with the seasonal rollover and new expansion. Diablo 4 season 12, Season of Slaughter, started March 11 with the understanding that this would be an abbreviated season bridging us to the release of the next expansion, Lord of Hatred. And the current season has been surprisingly fun — who doesn’t want to run around as the Butcher, growling “Fresh Meat” and slapping down a Furnace Blast to melt everyone in your screen radius. But time keeps on trucking forward, so it’s almost time to wave our cleavers goodbye to Butcher-mania and Killstreaks.

Diablo 4 makes tracking its seasons easy, as the next season starts the day the current season ends. You can always check the remaining days in the season on the Reliquary screen in-game — every item available for purchase with favor tokens has a countdown of the remaining time the item is available for purchase (i.e. during the season) that is roughly accurate (within a few days). We used to get clear season dates on the character selection screen, but that hasn’t been available for the last few seasons.

Notably missing from the Dev team this cycle was a patch 3.0 PTR; even with the Vessel of Hatred expansion, we had a patch 2.0 PTR to test functional changes to the base game about a month and a half before the expansion release. We also haven’t seen a blog post with season details, although that isn’t really expected until the week before the seasonal rollover. Presumably, the season is something that will integrate with the LoH expansion for theme, but we won’t know until we see additional details.

We still have a full Season’s Journey worth of objectives to complete even though season 12 is an abbreviated season. This has been a bit of an adventure for the completionists among us as some, like purifying 66,666 seeds from the PVP areas or scrapping 50 Bloodied Ancient Unique items, are much more suited to a full season’s worth of time. So wrap up tasks and make your last minute Reliquary purchases, because season 12 ends (and season 13 begins) with the launch of Lord of Hatred on April 28. See you in Sanctuary!
