Okay now I’m feeling more torn about taking Thursday off after being off yesterday. I have a meeting for something I’m in charge of going on. My mom also called me and wants me to go over for dinner which would be easier if I did take the day off. I am thinking of calling to reschedule my massage and see if they have any time tomorrow after work, maybe Thursday. I wouldn’t even be bothered if my wife didn’t make me stay home yesterday.
You’re never going to wake up and realize you unfairly prioritized your friends and loved ones over a job.
I don’t know if you’re planning on going north of Pennsylvania this summer, but I HIGHLY recommend visiting Michigan at some point before your kids get too big. It’s a huge state but I can suggest Fort Michilimackanac, any number of lighthouses, Great Lakes beaches, the world’s longest freshwater boardwalk, the list goes on. Mackinaw island alone is a cool place for a day trip.

I traveled to Michigan once to cross the fabled bridge and find your magic rocks. A mentor once gave me a wonder stone, composed of the fused lives crushed in stone death, but I lost it in the fire that burned my mother’s mother’s house to flinders and ashes and I wanted a replacement. The fire was caused by my wicked uncle, who was a drunkard and a reprobate and had been my best friend growing up (we were only 9 months apart in age) so it seemed a fitting revenge to force him to drive me on this quest.
However, I failed to account for his moral and ethical failures, his bottomless thirst for libations, and his utter and complete stupidity. The car he drove us in? Stolen from my mother’s oldest brother. Its ultimate fate? Driven into a tree while I was sleeping in a motel in Petoskey. My attempt to bail him out? Successful, but then he took a swing at a deputy and ended up right back in the jail.
I ended up calling another uncle to come deal with him, collected my magic compressed dead coral stone — and truly it was magical because despite his best efforts I left unharmed and never arrested — and took a bus back to Rhode Island.
I haven’t spoken to him in over 30 years. For all I know he’s still there.

Portland has the best bookstore on the North American continent. It also had memories of a magical day where I met, fell in love with, and helped someone very special out of a bad situation and managed to leave their life better than I found it, which I will always be grateful for.
I was chased through the streets of Denver by a family of Samoan Mormons from Utah who wanted me to hear the truth about the Book of Mormon and would not take no for an answer. In order to escape them, I had to endure a four hour dinner and only survived to their incredibly friendly Newfoundland dog, who I bribed with treats to earn his loyalty and then absconded while the dog was off eating my dinner.

Up front, I don’t watch people play video games that often, and almost never on Twitch. So I’m going to have to guess that YouTube would be my answer.
