The Queue: For the Queen!

Happy Victoria Day to my fellow Canucks, and only my fellow Canucks. Apparently, we’re the only ones who specifically celebrate Queen Victoria’s birthday. It doesn’t hurt that it lands on a good point to make the unofficial start of Summer, that’s totally just a coincidence. If you don’t have a queen to celebrate today, maybe you could celebrate Sarah Kerrigan, the Queen of Blades. She’s pretty cool and pointy!

Other good options are the Junker Queen, Queen Talanji, Queen Aszhara, Zagara the Zerg Queen, and the Amazon Queen from Skovos.

While I try to think of more Queens to celebrate in Blizzard games, it’s time for our daily question and answer column — The Queue!

It’s gotta be the bunnies. You set down a couple, and all of a sudden, you’ve got so much more free decor! Move over, circle carpet, take a hike, square carpet — the future is bunny.

Does the main Mephsito story get better because we have the Vessel of Hatred story working as its “Empire Strikes Back” moment? There’s a reason why three-act storytelling is so popular, so it would make sense to see another three expansions’ worth of Destruction or Terror-related things. Y’know, if we were gonna do another Prime Evil right away.

I’d also be willing to put a little money on two more expansions’ worth of Angel-based expansions to lead us into Diablo 5. I just wanna see what they’ve been up to. Plus, it’s a smaller, less explored part of the universe and could tide us over the next two to three years of expansions while they get a bigger mainline game spun up to handle some Prime Evils.

The organization makes too much money to look like this much of a circus. Trying to secretly meet with a head coach replacement, only to have that leaked to the press, so now you’re committed to firing your current head coach, whom you just offered a 3-year contract extension to — and still have to pay if they don’t get a new head coaching job by July… just doesn’t seem like smart decision making to me.

This season saw a lot of poor lateral moves that haven’t worked out for my Oilers at all. We had two goalies who’d seen Stanley Cup Finals play, and now we don’t have either of them. The only team that actually got a decent result from trading Stuart Skinner and Brett Kulak to the Penguins for Tristan Jarry is the Colorado Avalanche — as they got Kulak traded to them in a later deal from the Penguins, and he’s playing pretty well over there.

We need a new head coach now, and are likely going to get yet another new goalie, so hopefully these off-season moves will wind up paying off in our favor, because it’s gonna be another long season if we can’t manage to string more than four wins in a row together.

The sweet mountain bike is 60,000 Blizzard Watch Bucks. The exchange rate of them to the dollar is terrible. This is what we get for tying our bespoke currency to the whims of videogame journalists. I just love chaos so much!

It’s gotta be Final Fantasy 8. It’s got it all: gun swords, giant floating war colleges, a weird sorceress who drives around in a giant stretch limo, a card game, a space ship, a girl who launches her dog at enemies for one of her super abilities, and someone who just loves hot dogs so much. What more do you need?

I also like Legend of Dragoon and Final Fantasy 9.

Recency bias would say that it’s HADES 2, which is cheating because the music in Supergiant games is beyond compare. I’d also throw out Halo as a standout; it’s really hard to beat its main theme for its sense of grandeur.

Today’s Bacardi is very concerned that you’re working too hard and not spending nearly enough time petting the furry fellows in your life. Make sure to give your pets a little extra love today and he’ll reward you tomorrow in your great vaults!
