The Epic Games Store is giving away Tomb Raider Remastered 1, 2, and 3, and Down in Bermuda for free this week

This week the Epic Games Store is giving away two very different games. One is a cute little puzzle game, and the other is core to my interest in gaming as a hobby.

Tomb Raider is one of the most iconic franchises, with one of the most iconic main characters, in all of gaming. Lara Croft had an absolute chokehold on me as a young gamer, even if I wasn’t the biggest fan of the whole parkour thing. As such, I’m definitely jumping and then clumsily landing at the chance to snap up this remaster for free from the Epic Games Store. Even with the remaster, it will probably seem like it has far fewer polygons than I remember. I feel like to properly enjoy it, I need to go buy some Fruit by the Foot and a can of Surge, and just vibe, perhaps literally. Did you hear Surge has so much caffeine in it that some kid in another school in a different state drank so much Surge they died? We all did!

  • Down in Bermuda
    • Release Date: January 14, 2021
    • Game Type: puzzle, casual
    • POV: 3rd person
    • Party: Single Player
    • DLC: None.

I’m upset this is the first time I’m hearing of Down in Bermuda because it’s exactly up my alley — a cute little puzzle game with lots of different puzzle types and a fun narrative thread tying it all together. It also has the kind of indie graphics which are simple, yet charming, and make for a great puzzle experience because they have much less ambiguity than more complex ones. I picked this up immediately and installed it, and am excited to get to playing it.
