The Queue: I wonder what Pandaren ramen tastes like

I wanna try it. I love ramen (ordered some last night, which is what prompted this thought). Pandaren are canonically extremely good at cooking; they even get a racial about it. Their ramen must be divine.

This is The Queue, our daily column full of Qs and As where we wish we could live in Pandaria. Seriously. Grummles and Yaks and Luckydos; great food and elemental spirits. Just ignore the Sha and the Mantid and the Virmen, and it’s a great place.

I think it’s interesting that a lot of the new era of expansions (DF, TWW, Midnight, and hopefully TLT) have been built around taking dangling plot threads and making something new out of them. So it wouldn’t surprise me at all if we see Azshara before the Worldsoul Trilogy is over. After she’s free of N’Zoth, it’s real easy to picture her deciding to go for the largest source of power on the planet, which is sort of the planet itself.

This would go hand-in-hand with my own Tinfoil Hat Theory that Azshara is somehow linked to Azeroth, explaining her golden eyes at birth, her immense power, perhaps even her name (on some level). My original thought was that she would be something like an avatar of Azeroth, but it probably wouldn’t be exactly that.

Either way, I want the story to give me something more complex than one of the three patterns they keep repeating, for a change:

  • “the villain wants power”
  • “the villain wants revenge”
  • “the villain wants to save us all from an even worse villain”

Give me something else! Complication! Nuance! The bad guy is intrinsically linked to what we’re trying to protect!

Q4tQ:

When do you think the elusive House Level 10 will become available? Sometime during the next couple of patches, or will we have to wait out the rest of the expansion?

This definitely feels like major patch material rather than minor patch. 12.1 would be very nice, but 12.2 seems equally possible if it’s indeed coming in a major patch.

With that said, going from past experiences with the WoW team, if I had to place some money on it, I’d say 13.0. >_<

I just feel like Blizzard is going to spend some time watching players interact with the Housing system, see what’s working and what’s not working, see what players want, come up with ways to progress the system, and use all of those lessons to construct the next House levels. I could be completely wrong about this, though, of course. But it just feels like that kind of thing to me; just a hunch.

Q4tQ:

What is your favorite way to be neighborly? I feel useful fixing fences, but clearing up cobwebs is also helpful

Holding the elevator door for them, always making sure to say “good morning, good evening,” some small amount of small talk about the weather.

…oh wait, you mean in WoW?

Crap, I haven’t been to my house in, like, a month?

KALCHEUS

Q4tQ What are you hoping to see in the Summer Game Fest main show Friday night?

Final Fantasy Remake Part 3 reveal, of course. It’s one of the three games I’m majorly excited about at the moment (the other two being Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave and Persona 6, but we’ll certainly not hear anything about those tomorrow.)

I want to know what word they’ll use. “Reunion” would have been perfect, but it’s already been used for a different FF7 spinoff game.

I want to see if Sephiroth will torment Cloud while he’s off skiing to get his mind off things. I want to see if we’ll get any glimpses of other locations in the story.

Also, maybe some Vincent and Cid gameplay, but that’s probably asking too much.

JALAMENOS

Apparently there is an international corgi day, and apparently it is today.

Just adding this here to raise awareness. June 4th. It’s a very important day. Might be too late for you to celebrate this year by adopting a corgi or whatever, but there’s always next year!

This has been The Queue. Bow wow wow, friends, and have a great weekend.
