Everything you need to know about WoW Midnight Season 2
We’ve gotten our first look at the upcoming World of Warcraft Midnight patch 12.1, the Curse of Ula’tek, which will include new raids, dungeons, and more content for Midnight Season 2. We know that Season 2 will go live one week after patch 12.1 launches, though we don’t yet have a confirmed release date. A lead-in quest for patch 12.1 content will be available in-game on July 7, 2026, which makes a late summer release for the full patch likely, probably in August. From there, we’ll be able to get a better idea of what Season 2’s release schedule will look like.
But while we wait for an official release date, let’s take a look at everything we know about in Midnight Season 2.

What’s in Midnight Season 2?
- The eight-boss Venomous Abyss raid
- New three-boss Altar of Fangs dungeon
- A new Mythic dungeon rotation, including:
- Altar of Fangs
- Murder Row
- Den of Nalorakk
- The Blinding Vale
- Voidscar Arena
- Kings’ Rest (Battle for Azeroth)
- Ruby Life Pools (Dragonflight)
- Temple of Sethraliss (Battle for Azeroth)
- Three new Delves:
- Ring of Glory
- Gnarldor Isle
- Venomfall Deeps (Nemesis Delve)
- New Prey targets and affixes on the Coiled Isle
- Arena versus bots
When will Midnight Season 2 content be available?
When Season 2 goes live a week after patch 12.1 launches, players will be able to immediately jump into the new eight-boss raid The Venomous Abyss, a new Mythic+ dungeon rotation, a new PVP season, and hunt new Prey targets on the Coiled Isle, the new zone in patch 12.1.
Venomous Abyss raid. We expect the Venomous Abyss raid will follow a similar raid schedule to earlier Midnight raids, with the full raid immediately available in Normal and Heroic difficulties, while Raid Finder will launch wing at a time, with the first wing available immediately. with the remaining wings opening up in subsequent weeks and becoming fully accessible by the third week of the season. Since this is the only raid for the season, Mythic difficulty for Venomous Abyss will probably open up in the second week of the season.
Season 2 Mythic dungeon rotation. A new dungeon, Altar of Fangs, will go live with patch 12.1 and when Season 2 begins it will become part of the seasonal Mythic+ dungeon rotation along with four other Midnight dungeons and three dungeons from previous expansions.
Bountiful Delves. The three Delves added in patch 12.1 will become part of the Bountiful Delves rotation in Season 2, opening up difficulty tiers beyond Tier 7 when Season 2 launches. This includes the seasonal Nemesis Delve, Venomfall Deeps, and its associated Nemesis boss. New snake and venom variants have been teased for the existing Midnight Delves but as for what that exactly means, we don’t know at the moment.
New Prey hunts. Delves aren’t the only thing getting new variants, as new Prey targets will be available to hunt in Season 2 and these targets will have new affixes that fit in with the serpent/poison motif of the Coiled Isle.
New PVP Season. Season 2 also marks the start of a new PVP season and an expansion of the Training Grounds to include an Arena versus bots mode, giving players an easier avenue to learn how to play.
Players have a lot to look forward to in Season 2 but there’s still plenty more to learn about what’s coming so we’ll keep you updated once we know more!
