WoW’s Midsummer Fire Festival has new quests and new rewards to earn

Midsummer Fire Festival

World of Warcraft‘s yearly Midsummer Fire Festival is happening now until July 5, 2026 and you can join the party at any faction’s capital city or any neutral sanctuary capital, including Silvermoon City. This year’s festivities have a new set of cosmetics for you to earn and a set of new quests to complete that are a change of pace from the usual Midsummer daily quests that you may have gotten used to (though they’re still around)!

New cosmetics and holiday mount

You can earn the new holiday mount, Sun Festival’s Painted Roc Mount, when you defeat Frost Lord Ahune. This boss can be queued up using the Dungeon Finder Tool once you reach level 10 and does also drop endgame rewards at higher levels. Like other holiday event bosses, the first defeat each gives the highest chance of earning the new holiday rewards.

If you want to buy any of the new cosmetics, visit any of the holiday vendors located in each major city near the Midsummer festivities. Horde will want to seek out Midsummer Merchants and the Alliance are looking for Midsummer Suppliers. There are a handful of new items that can only be bought with the Burning Blossom event currency:

There are more new cosmetics for sale at your preferred Midsummer holiday vendor but these new pieces also have a chance to drop when you defeat Frost Lord Ahune:

New Midsummer quests

There are a handful of new Midsummer quests for both the dungeon and the open world, and each rewards you with an amount of Burning Blossom which varies, depending on if it’s your first time completing it or if it’s a repeat turn-in.

You can pick up The Tale of the Frost Lord from any Alliance Festival Loremaster or Horde Festival Talespinner. The new open world Ignite the Skies quests are generally the same for everyone and involve flying through sun blossoms in the skybox above you, but have different lore beats depending on your faction.

Alliance members can visit Aedh Firebeard in Stormwind City to start Ignite the Skies: Stormwind and the Horde will begin Ignite the Skies: Orgrimmar with Elder Sunhorn in Orgrimmar’s Valley of Wisdom. Completing these quests turn them into Reignite the Skies which can then be completed and turned in daily. Elder Sunhorn can also be found in Silvermoon City for the repeatable Ignite the Sky: Silvermoon, and additional Ignite the Skies quests can be completed for the Southern and Northern Eastern Kingdoms along with Southern and Northern Kalimdor.
