The Queue: I love you, Julian
On June 24, 2006 I completed a quest that began in a Molten Core raid. I stood in a baking hot Seattle (technically Kirkland) back yard and married Julian, who came down from Canada and began the long, strange trip that has brought us to this day. We saw the Warcraft movie together. We stood in line for four expansions, and leveled together for decades. 20 years later, I am still Busbandon and they are still Gwifelor.
Thank you, Julian, for all of it. I love you.
Do you need to be 90 to get the mount from the holiday boss? Is 80 good enough?
I’ve gotten mounts well before max level in the past. I even got the Brewfest Kodo on a low level alt.
Q4TQ: why do you reckon Jessie and James (and Meowth, that’s right!) wanted to “denounce the evils of truth and love”?
To quote that famed philosopher Heihachi Mishima
- Just this: words like “justice” and “truth” are empty concepts that have led societies through cancerous histories. Through the ages, those who have blindly believed in these absolute truths have fought and died over empty platitudes. Today, you’ll find people mistaking their own greed for truth, and eating the planet out from under them and condemning themselves to total annihilation, chanting their democracy and their freedom as though they were a religion. They’re cheerfully justifying their journey towards self-destruction
Just imagine Meowth saying That’s right! behind him.
My biggest maybe for a Steam Machine is the native Steam environment. Valve is going to optimize and support the snot out of it like they do with the Steam Deck. I’ve put Linux Mint and Steam on a number of my old PC’s. All of my Steam games run on them. Even the very old PC’s. Not having Widows in my life is such a nice feeling. I think it would only be better with a Steam Machine.
Does it have a native word processor?
Three cheers for the dry cereal club! But my Achilles’ heel for snacks is anything salty. Potato chips, Doritos, popcorn… i will eat it until my mouth is shredded raw, and then want to keep eating. I tell people at least it’s cheaper than drugs.
Looks at the pile of Jalapeno and Cheese Doritos bags near his desk. Considers his lifelong health issues.
Let me just say that there are some costs that may not be monetary (depending on where you live) to a lifelong addiction to salty snacks.
Remembers he is also an alcoholic who was addicted to opiates for a decade.
Oh, right. Carry on, then.
Seriously if not for Julian I’d have died decades ago.
Is there something that’s happening in the world that I should be aware of? Where is everyone today?
It’s my anniversary. I even told you that up front. I don’t know why I think you need to know that, but here I am.

Okay, that’s the Queue for today. Take care, everyone. Hug the people you love.
