How to track down the Unfazed Diver, the most elusive kitty in World of Warcraft history

It’s been nearly a year, but the World of Warcraft secret finding community on Discord has finally located a dimension-traveling Purrkin that has eluded them since it was first revealed during our trip to K’aresh. We tip our collective mystery-solving hat to Aerinis, Colearu, and Mat, who teamed up to chase down this lost kitty clear across the Great Dark Beyond. Read on for a full rundown on how to quickly add the Unfazed Diver to your secret pet collection.

Attentive secret seekers immediately began looking for the Unfazed Diver when it was added to the game files in Patch 11.2, Ghosts of K’aresh, back in August 2025. While it appeared in the in-game pet journal, its source was listed as “???” and its description hinted that it managed to make its way extremely far from its home of Tazavesh.

The community of super sleuths at the WoW Secret Finding Discord channel spent the next ten months combing over every square meter of Tazavesh without turning up so much as a stray whisker. It turns out that all that searching was in vain, because the Unfazed Diver had actually made its way all the way to a planet not accessible until patch 12.0.7 sent us to investigate some Legion-invaded worlds.

Before you capture the Unfazed Diver, you’ll need a character at level 90 with the Reshii Wraps earned as part of the K’aresh main story. After using the phase conduit in central Tazavesh to phase dive, you can now find a note on the ground just before walking back out the door into the city. If you’re encountering problems trying to phase dive, try equipping your Reshii Wraps and then logging out and back in.

Reading this note gives you a Phase-Displaced Toy and a Bill of Lading. I’ll save you a trip to the dictionary: lading means having to to with freight or cargo, and sure enough, the note details an order of storage crates and transport skiffs for the Ethereum Overcroft. The Overcroft is an Ethereal-claimed plateau just southwest of Howling Ridge in Voidstorm. One of the storage crates in the southeast section of that area is tagged Odd-Smelling Crate. You won’t receive anything, but examining the crate will alert you to an aromatic substance inside of it and move your progress forward on the quest for the evasive kitty.

Next, you’ll need to head to Normal-difficulty Naigtal, one of the new zones from patch 12.0.7. On the eastern side of this fungal forest you’ll find Manaforge Arcvein. Once you’ve completed the previous steps in the process, you’ll be able to loot a Specimen Container Key from the Hal’hadar Manatechs that hang around the area. It’s not a 100% drop but you shouldn’t have to face off against too many Ethereals before you acquire the key.

After that it’s relatively straightforward to locate the Specimen Container within Manaforge Arcvein and open it, claiming your very own Unfazed Diver. While this feline stowaway has finally been hunted down, the WoW secret finding community never sleeps and is already on the lookout for new clues that may be coming in patch 12.1.
