D.Mon joins the Overwatch hero lineup when season 4 releases August 11

MEKA squadron leader and D.Va’s best frenemy D.Mon finally joins the Overwatch hero roster in season 4, which releases August 11. We were first sort-of introduced to D.Mon back in 2018, with her red room in Busan next to D.Va’s pink one giving us a small taste of her character via environment, and then-narrative lead Michael Chu giving a few hints on his Twitter. D.Mon will, naturally, be a new Tank hero, and if the trailer is any indication, she’s going to be a tough nut to crack on the battlefield.

This brings the Talon and Overwatch conflict to new places, with the Junkers on the side of Talon …possibly? They always seemed like a chaotic neutral sort of group, but here their actions align neatly with the goals of Talon. What are Vendetta and the crew going to do with that EMP? Maybe it takes a whole arsenal to replace Sombra’s role on the team? Both teams seem incredibly tech-heavy, so it’ll be interesting to see how they deploy all this stuff without shooting themselves in their own feet, perhaps literally. I’m interested to hear what Hammond has to, uh, say about all this, too.

More information will be rolling out about D.Mon in the leadup to season 14. We do know that she’s voiced by Twitch legend LilyPichu, who also reads the new short story released to Overwatch’s official YouTube channel with some of D.Mon’s backstory.
