The Queue: Legend of Zelda
I heard there was a big announcement from Nintendo about the Zelda series this morning. Back in my day kids, we had another big story — you might even call it Great? — featuring a princess named Zelda, too. They even made a movie version. Oh, no, we uh… we weren’t expecting a sequel. Why? uh, well…
This is The Queue, our daily column where you ask us questions and we might be a little evasive about the answer for no real reason. It’s just a little awkward. Oh hey, there’s a musical version on Broadway too!
I managed to get my Captain rep done so now I can focus on fishing up 2500 casts. Is there anyway to make that faster? I almost did some alt stuff but I couldn’t find a skip to the intro to the Coiled Isles and it just feels too early. I have my full hero vault for world content on my shaman and I got my myth crests out of delves.
The only way I find fishing in WoW tolerable is to do it in relatively large doses while watching a show on my second monitor. I’m thinking I may start The Other Bennet Sister here shortly.
But you’re right that it takes forever, to the extent that I kinda start to wonder who this is for. I’d guess people who need to be able to play in very short bursts, but have a ton of time otherwise to do a task which doesn’t require a ton of focus. If I’m being honest, that just sounds like a golden retriever.
Q4tQ: what non-playable creature in WoW do you think is the tastiest? Sentient creatures are on the menu too, be they friend (Tuskarr) or foe (Naga), to everything in-between (Dryad).
Fungarians. Wild mushrooms are always phenomenal, and these guys seem like the wildest of the wild. However, I’m not always the best at identifying edible mushrooms in the wild. False gills versus true gills is one that usually trips me up, and the variation in spore color is always a bit of a head scratcher. Is this a brownish white or whitish brown? Who’s to tell. Maybe the element of danger makes them even tastier.
But the best thing about eating mushrooms from outside is that, even if you misindentify something, everything is edible once. (Happy snacking; don’t die!)
It’s the start of the school year. Do your chaos levels go up or down?
The return of a Routine of any kind along with actual stretches where my home is quiet for more than 11 minutes at a time are like a cool drink at the end of a long, blazing hot summer of disorder
On one hand, having a minute to freaking breathe without a low level of chaos at all times is phenomenal. There are so many tasks I just kinda can’t do during summer because I need to be able to focus uninterrupted.
However, immediately after the school year starts, I suddenly have to do all those things. All those insurance forms, all those nitpicky little cleaning and sorting tasks, and oh yeah, remember that book I was finishing up final revisions on? And the tiktok account I need to start to promote any kind of author-related career? I’m out here vacuuming (because my kids act like cats when I do) and trimming the bushes and running errands, but oh wait, I forgot the most fundamental parts of back to school! One is that now I have spirit weeks and lunch at schools and ice cream days to deal with. The other is the inevitable two week hacking cough and headcold I get when those tiny germ factories crank into high gear once again.
So, slightly more and slightly less chaos at the same time.
