The Queue: Finally, a video game for nihilists
First we had a Zelda Direct that mostly was an advertisement for one game and some merch, and now the Nintendo Direct today straight up featured the above quote for an upcoming game. Finally, a game for nihilists. But hey, Eternal Anima and the new Kirby game caught my attention for sure, and Torneko’s Mystery Dungeon is out today in English for the first time on the Switch. That’s pretty neat. You should play that. Keep encouraging Square-Enix to localize obscure SNES games until I finally get Treasure of the Rudras in English, please.
This is The Queue, our daily column where you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers, and then the comments turn into the most civil chatroom on the internet. Seriously, I’m proud of y’all. Most days.
Q4tQ: What did you think of the Zelda Direct, specifically the new OoT trailer?
I’m about to become the least popular writer on the site!
I did not especially care for the Ocarina of Time trailer, but I think it’s because at this point I’ve played Ocarina to completion repeatedly across multiple platforms and while it was revolutionary for its time, I do not consider it to be anywhere near the peak of the Legend of Zelda franchise. But Nintendo is going to keep milking remakes out of it until the cows come home, I guess.
Personally I think the characters all look like haunted porcelain dolls, and Young Link going swimming looks just distressingly wet. Soaked. Like he’s somehow damp down to the bones. Also he didn’t pet that baby horse. 0/10 would never play.
The rest of the Zelda Direct was pretty much a nothingburger, too, unless you were really looking forward to that Lego set, or really wanted the Legend of Zelda special edition Switch 2, which admittedly does look pretty cool.
Lady Liadrin today, checked, has no weekly options offered. Nothing. Anyone else seeing this?
She doesn’t always have a weekly! That was the case sometimes in Season 1, too, though I never managed to put any rhyme or reason to it. In Season 2, it seems like it alternates between her and Vereesa. Let a lady have a week off, sheesh.
Persona fans! P4R AND P6 Steam Achievements have apparently leaked! Massive spoilers are out there! Exercise caution on ze Internet!
KALCHEUS IS NOT KIDDING. I couldn’t help myself because I’m an idiot and both of these are very easy to find. I will say the P4R achievement list is a bit more predictable, but the Persona 6 list gives away quite a lot. Granted, some of it you’d have learned when the game gets a first real trailer anyway, but… Stay safe out there on the internet, kids. Maybe just stay here in the Queue.
