World of Warcraft patch 12.2 Housing updates include multiselect and copy/paste functions
Towards the end of the World of Warcraft What’s Next panel at BlizzCon 2026 Jake Miller squeezed in a couple of housing system updates slated for Eclipse, patch 12.2, that had been been on the Housing player’s wishlists since the launch of the feature. We also got a bit of a better look at some of the upcoming changes during the Crafting Coziness panel.

Showcase Mode lets you show off your house — or compete for glory
Player Housing now has a competitive end game.
Showcase is a new Housing mode that lets players browse featured homes from the Housing dashboard. Showcases may feature collections of homes or themed events, and players can visit homes that interest them.
Players can also submit their own homes to Showcase. When a home is submitted, a snapshot of that home is saved at that moment, allowing players to continue decorating while participating in a Showcase. Selected Showcase events can offer exclusive décor rewards.
Players can take a snapshot at any time and generate a Visitor Code to share with others.
It appears that showcases will most likely be based around time limited events, such as Noblegarden in the presented screenshot.
Players will be able to submit their build to the showcase, it will be accessible via a new tab in the housing dashboard. Even if you haven’t submitted an entry you will be able to participate by visiting submissions from other players and if you like their house you will be able to vote for it.
Submitting your house generates a snapshot, similar to a blueprint. This snapshot is loaded into a showcase specific neighborhood that others can visit. You can continue to edit your house in your own neighborhood without it affecting the uploaded showcase. For anyone who played Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it acts similar to a Dream Address. You will be able to generate a visitor code to share with friends.
You will also be able to view featured showcases, most likely the highest voted houses. If your house attracts enough votes, you can win some themed event decor to add to your catalog. We don’t know yet if these decor rewards will only be available to those who win showcases.

Mannequins will let you show off your other favorite endgame pursuit, transmog
Also coming in patch 12.2 will be a new placeable decor item, mannequins. If you have looked closely at the mannequins used by the Traveler’s Log traders you will be familiar with these … things.
The great part is that they will allow you to chose to display transmog you have collected over the years. Coupled with the changes that will allow you to set transmog to any armor type you have collected on your account, this gives you a huge range of options of clothing you can put on display.
The disturbing part is, have you ever really really looked closely at those mannequins? Their eyes follow you and they can blink. They give the appearance of a real human NPC that has been turned to wood. It was a level of body horror we weren’t expecting to be added to housing.

Item placement UI updates include copy and paste
Possibly the most requested features since the release of housing, this patch will be adding the ability to copy and paste decor items, preserving the scaling, rotation, and dye attributes of an item.
Possibly even more requested is the ability to select multiple items at the same time. While not exactly the same as grouping, it will allow you to select more than one object and move them as a group. So if you imported a blueprint with an amazing piano but you want to move it into a different corner in your house, or even a different room – you would now be able to select all the items in the custom object and move they all together without having to reassemble the object. You would also be able to multi-select and then copy and paste the object into the new location — assuming you have all the decor required to build a second copy of the object. The panel during Crafty Coziness also indicated that if you select a lot of stuff, you will be able to un-select just one of them, but not the rest, as needed.

Decor acquisition changes let IKEA deliver to your doorstep
One of the pain points for housing builders is being in the middle of building something and realizing you don’t have enough of an item to complete the build. So you have to exit edit mode, leave your house, go to where ever farflung locale where the item is sold, and buy more of them. This could require you to travel to your neighborhood hub to an entirely different game zone — potentially on another in game planet.
As a new feature in patch 12.2, for decor you have previously unlocked, you will be able to purchase additional items directly from your catalog without travelling back to get more. No additional details were provided in the panel. It is likely you will need to have the original currency needed for the world vendor to purchase those objects, but it will still be far more convenient than having to break your concentration to go get another table or beam or square rug.

New Neighborhood Endeavors coming in patch 12.2
In the rapid fire round up at the end of the presentation, Jake revealed there would be 4 new Endeavors coming in Eclipse. He called out that this would include the Storm Riders from the Isle of Dorn, but we didn’t get any hints of what the other visitor themes may be. We will keep our eyes out for the 12.2 PTR that is likely to show up in the next 6 weeks.
Which new housing feature has you the most excited?
