World of Warcraft: Forever’s roadmap gives us an idea of what to expect for the rest of 2026 and through summer 2027

World of Warcraft: Forever is the newest WoW Classic variant, and it’s launching on November 4, 2026. Forever is described as a permanent home alongside the other iterations of WoW Classic, giving us an alternate universe version of the original World of Warcraft. As part of its reveal to the world, Blizzard also gave a roadmap of what to expect for World of Warcraft: Forever for the rest of 2026 and the first half of 2027.

Here’s what we know about the WoW: Forever 2026-2027 roadmap.

• September 17, 2026 – October 22, 2026: WoW: Forever beta until level 30
• October 27, 2026: Early name reservation and character creation
• November 4, 2026: World of Warcraft: Forever launch
• December 9, 2026: Three raids unlock:
  • 10-player Barrow Deeps raid
  • 20-player Hyjal Summit raid
  • 40-player Onyxia’s Lair raid
• Spring 2027
  • 2 new raids (10 and 20 player)
  • 2 new dungeons
  • New quests and zone
  • New Legendary questline
  • PVP season refresh
• Summer 2027
  • Revamped iconic raid
  • New raid
  • Expanded world content
  • 2 new dungeons
  • PVP season refresh
  • Professions and Legacy updates

What immediately stands out about this roadmap is that all of the 2026 benchmarks have hard dates while the 2027 updates are generalized between seasonal parts of the year, spring and summer. It’s not immediately clear what type of release structure WoW: Forever will have and for the information we have right now, the only existing standard we have is the 10-12 week release cycle that exists in retail WoW and WoW Classic progression realms.

If we were to apply that existing standard to WoW: Forever, then the spring update would release around early March 2027 and the summer update would happen late May or early June 2027. Of course, these 2027 release windows and the content within them are subject to change and can always be moved up or back, or removed outright. But for now, this is what we know about the game’s upcoming schedule.

One of the major points of WoW: Forever is persistent progress and the player journey, and to that end, Blizzard has stated that “frequent major updates will evolve Azeroth of WoW: Forever for years to come.” This strongly implies, but doesn’t confirm, that we could be seeing more content in the second half of 2027 and beyond. Unfortunately, we won’t get that information until sometime next year but until then we’ll have plenty of WoW: Forever to jump in to.
