The Queue: Lookout Itsabear
Oh, fine, you all convinced me. I’ll try out the fancy new Elves in Warcraft: Forever.
Of course, the first step is coming up with a good name, and after I couldn’t be Tobias Fünke, Ursus Ursus, or Trucka Saurus, I had to settle on Lookout Itsabear. I’ve only just gotten to the second hub in their starting area, but it’s already such a weird mix of familiar and new. It’s been so long since I leveled a character without immediately covering it in heirlooms and spending money that it’s been a fun throwback.
Will I start up another Skyborne Elf when the game comes out? I don’t know, but until then I’ll keep poking around the Azeroth of old.
While I sit and drink some of this sparkling water to get my mana back, again, it’s time for our daily question and answer column — The Queue!
Q4tQ: At the Darkmoon Faire we see a LOT of injured carni’s but no first aid or any type of healing quest for them anymore. How would you design a quest around healing them that all classes could do without first aid/healing spec?
I think it’d have to be a quest where you take your injured carnie buddy around to lots of different people who all have the surefire remedy to what ails him. You can visit the guy selling cure-all ‘tonics’ and the people with the old wives’ tales about tying tea bags to your head, and then when none of those work, you just have to bring him to the roadie for ETC, who has to keep patching up the guitarist after they do something stupid. It could showcase the silliness of the carny life, and anyone who doesn’t have a healing spell could make it work. Heck, just make everyone do it that way, even if they have healing and first aid. Maybe Carnies are superstitious folk, and they won’t let you try any of those weird outsider remedies on them.
I had ramen for dinner tonight. Q4tQ why is the egg in ramen so tasty?
It’s a delicious jammy egg, and it’s been soaking in a delicious broth. This is one of those times that delicious thing plus delicious thing equals a more delicious thing. Sometimes that math doesn’t math right.
Q4tQ: What are your thoughts about poutine?
Poutine doesn’t have that problem, though; it’s fully firing on all cylinders.
It’s delicious. It’s super good for you. If everybody ate poutine, nobody would be as upset anymore; who would have the energy to fight after all those delicious gravy-covered fries?
It’s amazing how many different variations of poutine can exist now. I’ve seen possibly every type of food poutine-ed; I would list them all, but I’m being serious I think it’s all of them. Either the food has been added to a regular poutine, or they’ve made a variation with it as the base instead of French fries.
It turns out that we’re really good at covering things in gravy. Who knew?
Q4tQ: is it wrong to ever use a bow or crossbow instead of a gun on a dwarf/dark iron hunter?
A Dwarf using a bow? That does sound like a tall order. Get it? Because they’re short!
Of course it’s wrong to use those instead of a gun; the Dark Iron are too grim and intense to use non-gun weapons as Hunters. You could maybe get away with a crossbow, but it’d have to be covered in lava or heavy metal to really fit the aesthetic.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen 4 posts by the same person in the Queue before! Grats, Moose mon! :D
It’s like you don’t even remember my 2021 Queue where Falrinn supplied all of the questions.
Rude.
I wrote this as a reply to Soeroah before noticing what time it was, so I’ll repost it here. It applies to everything I’ve ever done in WoW…. leveling, instances, professions, etc.
WoW’s Law: Anyone who has more/does better/is further is a tryhard; Anyone who has less/does worse/is behind is a failure.
This applies to everything in life too.
If they’re driving faster than you, they’re a maniac. If slower, they’re a turtle.
If they’re a harder worker than you, a suckup. If they’re slower than you, they’re lazy.
It’s pretty reassuring to always be the perfect person.

Today’s Bacardi is grumpy because he’s been woken up from his sun nap. Maybe some more attention will convince him to give you the shiniest of loot, or it’ll get you a nice rock… One of the two!
