Another excellent week of speedy World of Warcraft maintenance

Good news everyone! Today’s WoW maintenance is short and sweet, for the third week in a row. (I know, it surprised me, too.) There’s just an hour of scheduled maintenance across all realms, so we should be back online and raiding our vaults soon.

Here’s the WoW maintenance schedule for Tuesday, October 6:

• Midnight: Offline from 7am – 8am pacific (10am – 11am eastern)
• Mists of Pandaria Classic: Offline from 7am – 8am pacific (10am – 11am eastern)
• WoW Classic (including Classic Era, Season of Discovery, and Hardcore realms): Offline from 7am – 8am pacific (10am – 11am eastern)
• The Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary realms: Offline from 7am – 8am pacific (10am – 11am eastern)

All World of Warcraft servers are back online.

Midnight players are getting a small balance patch today, though how small it is will depend on your class and spec. For the most part this is buffs, including Devourer Demon Hunters, Brewmaster and Mistweaver Monks, Subtlety (Trickster) Rogues, and Enhancement Shaman. But it’s bad news for Death Knights, because the Unholy Death Knight Blightfall build has been nerfed. This talent had been bugged and was underperforming, but when Blizzard fixed the bug suddenly the Blightfall became the strongest build. Now it’s overperforming, so Blizzard is cutting Blightfall damage in half. So it’s probably back to your old build.

No changes have been announced for other servers, though a bug fix patch went out for the WoW: Forever beta servers yesterday. Typically Forever beta content patches go out later in the week.

This is probably the last week of short maintenance for modern World of Warcraft players: Midnight patch 12.1.5 launches next Tuesday, on October 13. As with any major patch, we should expect some extended maintenance — though we won’t know the exact schedule until the end of the week. Just be sure to set your expectations accordingly.

While I don’t expect any maintenance mishaps today, I’ll keep you updated on WoW server status right here, and let you know when the realms are back online. Hopefully I’ll see you in Azeroth soon!
