The Queue: Tis the season

There is the lightest chill on the wind that rustles the slowly crisping leaves left at the tips of the branches of the trees this morning. Sure, it’s noon and it’s like, 75 degrees out now, but you know what this means.

It is officially Soup Season. Congratulations and best wishes to all who celebrate.

This is The Queue, our daily column where you ask us questions and honestly we’re just trying to decide between butternut squash with sage or minestrone. Maybe a tortilla-style with the last of the fresh corn and some cubed sweet potato for body? Hmm.

I’m not sure on how often or whether the themes rotate within a specific Neighborhood. However, this would be a great time to collude collaborate with anybody on your friends’ list who lives in a different Neighborhood from you. You can just visit people whose Neighborhood has a different Hallow’s End theme to do the three quests there for the different achievements. I’m not sure how this interacts with the daily quests in your Neighborhood though — it may take you a couple days to make your visits and do the dailies.

You know, just in case someone, like a coworker, added you as a friend ages ago and you still haven’t accepted, Kurt.

Eh, it’s aight.

Proportionally and per time spent it’s not as good as it used to be, where doing things like just making a round for the buckets is THEE way to level an alt. But, if you’re going to level an alt now is a good time to do it, and you should definitely be visiting the weird little inns that are a little out of the way while you’re leveling.

I am very basic so the story of Illidan and all the entities in the Black Temple has my heart.

Except that part with Maiev at the end, that was stupid.

But me helping Akama free his soul, then him being buoyed by the others, given the strength to open the door? The vagaries of the various demons, running rampant under Illidan’s nose, and with his blessing? Heck, even fighting through the sewer to try to catch them all unawares wasn’t nearly as tropey then as it is now.

Though of course, now, the Retcon has made a lot of it not the best. I personally killed that goofball, and now, not so much. But at the time it felt like the culmination of the expansion and years of story, and I as the raider made it happen. Good times, good times.
