The Queue: Nearly Halloween!

It’s just around the corner!

Have you eaten your first box of candy and needed to buy the “Shameful Second” box? The “Is What It Is third box?” The “Accepting You Have a Problem and Doing Nothing to Change It” fourth box?

I certainly don’t know what you’re talking about, and I resent your accusatory stares right now.

While I try and find a spot to dispose of a small mountain of wrappers, it’s time for our daily question and answer column — The Queue!

EVERY MUSEDMOOSE WILL BE SURROUNDED BY A THRONG OF MARCHIN’ DEATH

Q4tQ: in party-based games, when you get new characters, how likely are you to add them to your party right away? Do you always bring in the new person, or do you tend to stick with the group you have?

Asking because I just got a new character in FFR who has me thinking, wow, I’m sure you’d be very useful if I wasn’t playing on the lowest difficulty level

If it’s early in the game, I’ll usually pick the new people as they arrive. At least for a little while. They could have cool new powers, and I barely know those other chumps. If the game does the thing where they toss you a random guy in the last quarter, though… Almost no chance. That new character has to be cooler than cool. I just met them, and I already have a squad of buddies who’ve been with me through thick and thin. It’s rare that a game tries this, but I feel like it happens sometimes. Especially when you’ve got that boss that bugs you for the first two acts, suddenly decide that maybe you have a point, and changes sides.

WHEN I’M NECROMANCIN’, EVERYONE’S DANCIN’ NO ONE CAN STOP ME, I DARE YOU TO TRY DISHSOAP

weather is finally turning a bit, was sunny and 17 yesterday, sunny and warm all week. tonight its raining a ton and going to be like 2 degrees over the weekend. womp womp.

Finally harvested the last of the tomatoes from the little greenhouses and took them apart for the winter. The wind is supposed to gust to 90km/hr tonight so good to get those greenhouses down before that.

I’m a bit sad though, I love fall but really don’t like winter. Hopefully it stays fall-ish awhile longer.

Hey, that sounds like my weather about a week ago.

We’ve gotten chillier, and there was even some of that white stuff falling from the sky the other day. None of it stuck around, but once it starts showing up, it’s just a matter of time. I’m hoping for another really mild winter, but what are the odds that I’m lucky a couple years in a row? Fall could take another month from winter, and I wouldn’t be that sad. Heck, I’d even give a month of spring to winter if it meant more fall.

Yeah, I said it.

THE DEAD ARE INFUSED WITH SENSATIONAL GROOVE AND THEY’RE COMIN’ FOR YOU NOW MOVEOVER

Q4TQ: What video game created a Halloween vibe for you with it not being Halloween themed?

Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines

I mean, it’s all about vampires doing vampire stuff with monsters and such around them; that’s the most Halloween thing that doesn’t specifically have giant jack-o’-lanterns on every doorstep. I also got one of my best and most memorable jumpscares playing a video game playing it. It was late at night, the lights were all out, I was playing with headphones so I wouldn’t disturb anyone, and I was investigating a haunted hotel. The perfect storm of jump scares. That ghost got me so good. I had to stop and come back in the warm light of day.

MY CADAVERS DRIVE A GATHERIN’ OF STREETS OF GLEEFUL KALCHEUS

Hello everybody! I hope everyone had a great weekend!
I did, if you ignore sports.

Hey, my sports people also didn’t do so well!

Something must be going around. Quick, wrap Connor McDavid in some bubble wrap! Apparently, we need to get a few more people on the team bubble-wrapped because they keep going on the injury list. The fragile jerks.

The rest of my weekend was fun, other than having to work. Stupid work making me work. Put them on the list of jerks too. I bought a fun art print of some raccoons looking into Nighthawks, also a five-dollar Funko of Cocaine Bear! Which, as Anna put it, is the most Cory-coded thing ever, and y’know, yeah. She’s definitely right.

I also got lots of compliments on my outfit, which is fun. It’s always nice when people appreciate the nonsense I go out in.

Oh yeah, and I saw a little band called Heart.

You know how some of the bands that have been going for decades don’t sound the same anymore? Not Ann Wilson; she still sounds like she could’ve recorded Barracuda yesterday. Fantastic show, if they come through your area, I hope you get the chance to see them.

Today’s Bacardi has seen it. You know, it! That perfect thing you’ve been looking for… it’s just over there! He might get it for you too if properly motivated. He likes all of the Reese’s Halloween candy selections, and most of the Twizzler ones. He doesn’t keep them, just passes them on to me since he’s such a good kitty.

Would you rather

Be told that you have a really cool outfit on

Or

Be recognized for something really cool you’ve done

Today’s Anna Earworm™: Necromancin Dancin

I’ll see you next week after Halloween. Have a safe and spooky time!

Help Anna prep for her Halloween fun by leaving her lots of questions tomorrow!
