New machinima highlights the perils of flying in major cities

Sure, we can’t fly in Draenor, we knew that going in to the latest expansion. But we definitely didn’t expect major cities to suddenly become a danger zone for unwary travelers, either. Youtuber Song Zee’s latest machinima, Damn it Khadgar! takes a look at why Stormwind and other cities have evolved into death traps for unwitting players. It’s a short video, but incredibly effective — and the combination of game footage and some subtle 3DS Max work takes this machinima to another level. Plus, it pulls off something I really appreciate — although the issue in question will be corrected in patch 6.1, we’ll still be able to fondly remember the days when this particular problem existed in game, much like The Lament of Captain Placeholder serves as an eternal reminder of that one time that boats were really, really messed up.

Song Zee has managed to quietly and effectively make one heck of an entrance into the world of WoW machinima. Let’s hope he sticks around and makes plenty more as time goes on, because his skill, creativity, and sense of humor and comedic timing are always welcome.
