Breakfast Topic: Do you watch esports?

All of Blizzard Entertainment’s current IPs are, at their heart, multiplayer games. Other than World of Warcraft, you could say they’re all primarily competitive multiplayer games — and even World of Warcraft places some degree of emphasis on battlegrounds, arenas, and PVP zones such as Ashran. All of Blizzard’s games, World of Warcraft included, have esports following to some degree. (Edit: All except Diablo.) Our question is: do you watch esports tournaments?

Personally, I’ve never seen the allure in watching World of Warcraft arena tournaments. I just don’t find them exciting, and even as someone who has played WoW since before it officially launched, I rarely had any idea what was happening at any given moment while spectating the arena. That said, I love watching StarCraft and Hearthstone. Though StarCraft is arguably more fast-paced than WoW arena, I found it easy to understand what was happening at its most basic levels — and the more I watched, the more I learned, only increasing my understanding. Likewise, Hearthstone is easy to both watch and understand, and it’s fun to watch competitive players overcome (or work with) the random aspects of card draw. I haven’t watched much Heroes of the Storm, and I’m not sure there is much to watch at this stage of the game’s development, but I’m eager to see where it goes.
