The Queue: I’m late

Today’s edition of The Queue is both late and short. I apologize for that, but I overslept. I spent half of my night last night — until around 3 a.m. — keeping an eye on a drunk man passed out in the street while I waited over two hours for the police department to pick him up. Two hours. Amazing response time.

I don’t know if today’s header image has any relevance or not. I picked one at random from our media library. This Queue is late enough, I don’t have time to take clever screenshots!

PUNTABLE ASKED:

Is there anything in Tanaan Jungle on the PTR yet?

I haven’t actually gone there in awhile — it was so bereft of content that I decided I’d wait until I saw something show up in the patch notes, or saw someone talking about something of note, before messing around with it again. I haven’t seen either of those things, so I have to assume there’s still next to nothing there. There’s pet battles content, there’s a new version/continuation of the Garrison Campaign, and that’s all I know about. The developers have mentioned adding new reputations to the zone, but I’m pretty sure those aren’t in yet.

So there’s something there, yes. It isn’t much, though. I believe there’s supposed to be a new PTR build this evening, so maybe we’ll see something of note in it.

JPEC07 ASKED:

What effect has LFR had on the game? Would you say it’s been good or bad for WoW? Why?

I think it’s good in that it makes the content easily accessible to people who can’t dedicate time to higher raiding. Some people just plain do not have the time to be in an organized raid group and spend hours upon hours on progression. Those people should still be able to see the content — they pay to play the game, too. What I don’t like about it is the developers seem to have developed a razor focus on raiding in this expansion, and instead of treating LFR as an accessible way to see content, they’ve treated it as the method by which they try to drive people toward high-end raiding. Dungeons died because they filtered everyone into LFR as fast as possible and tried to push them into more difficult stuff. There are players perfectly content with dungeons and LFR as their highest content, and my feeling is Blizzard has actively tried to squash that kind of gameplay.

Heroic dungeons required a higher iLevel (plus Proving Grounds) than LFR. You need a lower iLevel to get better gear faster and easier? What?

ORCHUNTSMAN ASKED:

are we getting a new world boss for 6.2?

Kazzak is back as a world boss for the third time. Oh, I should’ve mentioned him in the question about Tanaan content.

Kazzak is there.

CALTHAGANOS ASKED:

I can’t find where you all actually link to articles you reference from other websites in your articles. Just looked at the article about an interview with ILM on the Warcraft movie and no link to the article. I read on an iPhone and other links in articles are not readily apparent either, no underlines or different font or anything. Is this intended?

Links not appearing on mobile is not intended. We used a stock mobile theme, and given it’s used by many, many other sites, we assumed it would work properly right out of the box. Apparently not. We plan to fix it, but fixing it might involve finding another mobile theme altogether. We’re investigating.

DIAVO JINX ASKED:

Any RP rituals you have with Followers or newly recruiter Followers? Do you make one run around the garrison that day while you do the daily chores? Do you take him/her to the Command Table and then select ’em for a mission?

Every follower with Shelly Hamby takes her on patrol while doing the garden/mine. Shelly’s awesome and she does ridiculous amounts of damage. Lantresor lives in the mine because he’s disrespectful.
