Breakfast Topic: How do you gather?

In Warlords of Draenor, gathering professions have never been easier. Herbs and ore can be found right in your garrison, without any need to hunt for them, and if you do go out in the wild to gather, you can typically gather anything at any skill level. This makes it easy to pick up gathering and crafting abilities at high levels, but what about lower ones?

My character on our leveling stream group has alchemy and herbalism, which I picked on something of a whim and am now regretting. Why? Because low-level gathering is a nuisance. While I have over a hundred Khadgar’s Whisker in my bag from gathering in the Eastern Plaguelands, I have no Wild Steelbloom or Goldthorn that I need to level alchemy, which primarily seem to spawn in zones I haven’t leveled through… though if I’d leveled in other zones, it seems certain that I’d be missing something else I needed to advance. So if I want to level alchemy, I either need to take time off from our leveling group and spend an hour or two running circles in a zone to collect herbs or dump a lot of gold on the auction house. It’s a process that’s unstreamlined in a way that feels very much like vanilla WoW — perhaps appropriate since these are both vanilla-era professions.

So for today’s discussion topic, I want to talk about gathering with you. Does it frustrate you or do you enjoy the routine of it? Or, at level 100, does it not cross your mind at all?
