Video: Legion Assassination Rogue Artifact quests
The latest build of the Legion alpha finally opened up the Assassination Rogue for testing — including acquisition of their Artifact weapons, the Kingslayers. When we got our first glimpse at the lore behind these weapons, I have to admit I was a little confused, especially considering their grisly history. I couldn’t really see how we’d be justifying using the very same weapons that were used to murder King Llane so many years ago.
So of course I rolled a Human to go test out the quest chain, because if nothing else, it was likely to be deliciously awkward.
Please note: This post and video both contain Legion lore spoilers, because of course they do.
The verdict? The journey was fun, the quests were interesting, but I’m still not completely sold on the idea that Garona was still carrying around the Kingslayers after all these years, especially when she repeatedly expresses remorse and revulsion for the things. It was implied that she picked them back up solely to go fight the Burning Legion, but I don’t really know if I find that believable — not after her horror-stricken reaction the very idea of killing Llane in The Last Guardian.
And beyond that … well, let’s just say I was more than a little surprised at the situation in Darkshire. I was slightly more surprised when I finished the quest chain and returned to Darkshire later, only to find that the village was back to normal as if nothing had happened. I would’ve expected it to at least reflect the events that happened during the quest chain, but that’s either not implemented yet, or simply being glossed over. Check out the video of the complete quest chain below, and while you’re at it, check out the gallery for a glimpse of the Rogue Class Hall in Dalaran.
