The Queue: Burning Crusade fashion

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

In celebration of the return of the Burning Legion, I’ve decided to hit up the PTR and use the wardrobe to create an outfit true to the spirit of The Burning Crusade. Enjoy!

WAITING4GIANTS ASKED:

Do we have any idea what the limits on Demon Hunter character creation will be.  I remember in Wrath, and for many years after, to make a DK you had to have a level 60 toon on the server already, and you could only have one DK per server.  Should we expect something similar with Demon Hunters?

You need at least one character at level 70 before you can make a Demon Hunter, and I believe you’re limited to one Demon Hunter per server. Naturally, people on connected realms will inevitably use connected realms as a workaround on the one-per-server limitation … but I don’t think that’s a big deal, really.

HAMNURABI ASKED:

Overwatch Q4tQ: With the new golden gun skins coming for competitive play, do you think that they’ll be usable with the Legendary skins, or is it going to be Epic or lower quality.  Since some of the legendary skins have unique weapon models.

I don’t have any golden weapons, so I don’t have a definitive answer. That said, I expect the skins with unique weapons will use the standard gold version instead. I’m not sure they’d put themselves on the hook to make multiple versions of a weapon every time they release a new skin, but who knows?

VALENCEMAGI ASKED:

does anyone know if they tweaked the AI or something in HotS?  Because we are *crushing* the AI tonight.

I can’t remember a time my team didn’t crush the AI unless we, collectively, decided to do something really boneheaded. The AI isn’t very good at avoiding damage, so if you have a team of burst damage assassins, you can steamroll all the way to victory. And even if you don’t have a team of high damage assassins, you can still steamroll the AI, just slower.

SUPERNOVADUST ASKED:

Hi, I’m not sure this was answered already, so sorry if it was. Say I get a cloth chest on my DK, will I be able to use it for transmog on my mage?

No. You can only add items to the wardrobe from classes of the correct armor type — Death Knights can equip cloth, but it isn’t their primary armor type. You’d need to learn that cloth chest on your mage (or a priest or warlock). Your Death Knight can only add plate to the wardrobe.

WAYNE ASKED:

Not sure if this has been asked before, but will Pet Charms be reset when Legion drops, or will I be able to spend the 1000 I’ve saved up straight away on Breanni’s new pets? Looking forward to seeing what she’s got for adoption, I’ve managed to avoid looking up the new pets…for now.

The Pet Charms from Warlords of Draenor do appear to still be the pet-related currency in Legion, yes. You’ll be able to use your stocked up currency. This actually took me by surprise — rarely does currency carry from one expansion to the next. Frankly, I’m still waiting for a surprise switch before the expansion’s launch, simply because that’s happened so often.

Of course, they could be trying to keep the barrier to entry for pet collecting low, and carrying the same currency is a good way to do that.

ANDREIOS ASKED:

Taking a bit of a survey: for anyone who has preordered a game from Amazon, especially a Blizzard title, and used the “release date” shipping option, when have you actually received it?

(Thinking about ordering my CE from Amazon this time for that sweet sweet discount… but I also don’t want to not have my frikkin’ code when the game goes live either.)

Amazon’s release day delivery seems to be a crapshoot. Sometimes, a game will arrive the day before launch — sometimes, you won’t receive until the evening of launch or the day after. Personally, I don’t risk it. If it’s a game I want digitally, I’ll get it from a digital storefront. If I want a physical copy, I’ll take an early morning trip to Target or Walmart and grab one off the shelf. If it’s a big release, those stores tend to have a plentiful number of them available. Since Gamestop doesn’t do WoW midnight releases anymore (at least in my area), going to a 24-hour Walmart at midnight is my fallback plan.
