Breakfast Topic: Are professions worth it anymore?

I really love crafting items. I love the fantasy of it. I love the idea that I created something powerful and shiny. And I really love to make a profit. But the items made by professions don’t seem to be of much use for very long or don’t make much money on the auction house with all the competition.

And with Legion looming nigh, professions like Inscription are getting complete overhauls throwing out the hard work of long time Scribes and forcing them to start all over with discovery mechanics. While other professions are getting More Of The Same with a few new tricks thrown in.

I don’t know. I have alts for every profession but I don’t really feel the desire to pursue crafting in the game for the first time since it launched.
