The Queue: Playing dress-up
Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!
Just to be cautious – is it safe to vendor Soulbound armor items I have in my bank and bags now that the wardrobe is live?
Assuming they’re items your character can add to the wardrobe, yes. If you’re a plate wearer who likes keeping pretty cloth dresses around, those cloth dresses won’t be added to the wardrobe on that character, so you might want to keep them. But all of your plate, all of your equippable weapons, all of that — it can go.
Known issues suggest the Broken Shore is already available. That the case? Thought it wasn’t gonna be around for weeks.
It isn’t available, but there probably won’t be another client patch before it becomes available. Any errors which exist now, particularly tooltip errors which can’t be hotfixed, will still exist when the invasion event (or the Broken Isles event) opens up. In this case, you’ll be aware of the errors before you encounter them.
Where will we see our minor glyphs? I see that the glyphs tab is gone from specialization & talents.
Since you apply glyphs directly to spells now, you’d find that information on the spell you’ve modified. Honestly, I think they should’ve kept some sort of centralized UI telling you which glyphs/scrolls you have active and which are available, because hovering over all of your tooltips to figure out what you did or did not do is not the most helpful thing ever.
So, how do I confirm if an armor piece (Soulbound, in my bag) is actually in my Wardrobe (I mean, I know it is, I just want to SEE it before I sell the item)? I thought something was going to pop up on the tooltip without an add-on, but I’m not seeing anything…
If you have something in your bags which you do not have in your wardrobe yet but can be learned, there will be a blue line of text on the tooltip which says “You haven’t collected this appearance.” If you already have it, or you can’t learn it on that character, there will be no text at all.
Now that I’m seeing the system on live servers, I do think tooltips should say something if you already have it, too. Pets do this, right? If you don’t have a pet in your collection yet, it tells you. If you do have it, it tells you how many. For the sake of clarity, wardrobe items should have a yes/no indicator, too.
Are the new glyphs in the game yet? Or do we need Legion-level scribes to make them?
The precious few cosmetic glyphs from previous expansions which weren’t burned to a crisp in this patch still exist. However, any new glyphs come from Legion content, yes.
Oh hey, I just realized that I’m always saying “hey I should buy Blizz Watch people’s books when I have money” and I actually have money! Can somebody hit me with that link that gives them even more money?
Well, since you asked… non-Blizzard Watch things which have been written by Blizzard Watch staffers gets rotated into the “More From Our Staff” section of the right sidebar, all the way at the bottom. Currently, there’s Matthew Rossi’s Nameless and my Lady Superior.
I don’t want to make a habit of plugging this stuff in our actual Blizzard Watch content, but I do want people to be aware of that widget over there. We have other staffers working on external projects and I love supporting their work. Keep an eye on that widget, and even when my own work isn’t in there, please consider supporting our crew! When Blizzard games are both work and leisure, it feels really good to work on something else creatively.
Is it true that the cloaks from the legendary questline in MoP (both the epic and final, legendary versions) are now usable for transmog? I saw it while testing on the PTR and it seemed to work fine, but I’m not convinced that it wasn’t just a bug.
I never got a cloak in MoP, so I can’t answer this. However, I’m including it for visibility. Commenters, do you know?
Are you going to vend all your unused gear or will you save some because you don’t fully trust the wardrobe and/or sentimental reasons?
I vendored the vast majority of my stuff, but there’s no way in hell I’m getting rid of Quel’Serrar. Ever.
