What do you think of Diablo’s Seasonal play?

I personally love when Diablo 3 does a new Season — it gives me an excuse to create a new alt and/or rebirth one of my current Barbarians. For Season 17, for example, I rebirthed my oldest Barb and I’m currently running him alongside my wife and one of her Demon Hunters, and it’s been a lot of fun. It’s a play model I often wish other games had, and when they have something similar, I often take full advantage — but Diablo 3 does it in a way I’ve not seen too often and I really enjoy it.

In fact, I’d absolutely love it if I could do this in WoW — rebirth one of my characters as a level 1, no heirlooms, no access to any gold or money, and go all the way to 120 on that character from scratch. But I don’t know how much other players would enjoy that, and I also don’t know how much players enjoy Seasons in Diablo 3 — is it something you just won’t do, something you do begrudgingly, or something you really enjoy? Do you do it to see what the new Season’s theme plays like, because you love to get a new Haedrig’s Gift, or simply to bring some novelty to a game that’s been out for a good long while now?

I honestly feel like Seasons have made Diablo 3 nearly evergreen, or as close as any game can possibly get — I can’t think of a time where I’ve felt like Diablo 3 isn’t a game I could play for ages and ages. Every time a new Season comes around, I fall in love with the game all over again. But what do you think? Do you enjoy Diablo Season by Season, or are you just going along for goodies and would stop without them? What do you think about Seasonal play?
