What are your “must” games, movies, and TV shows to enjoy during Spooky Season™?

It should be no surprise to anybody, but I love spooky things. Everything about this time of year is extremely My Jam™, and when October rolls around, I try to make sure to celebrate as much as possible. Of course, it’s a bit harder to find the time to celebrate as an adult than it was as a kid, so celebrating as much as possible sometimes means making sure you just get through your “musts” of the season.

For my part, Over the Garden Wall is something I was introduced to maybe five or so years back, and it was — to be a bit cliché — an instant classic for me. It has musical numbers, gorgeous settings, fantastic characters, and a story that may or may not have you tearing up by the end. And, of course, everything about its aesthetic is perfect for a cozy fall night. Everything about it is right up my alley, and I try to watch it every year in October to celebrate the season.

Of course, I try to celebrate as much as possible, so I have a few other things I try to watch/play/do around this time of year. Trick ‘r Treat is definitely not as whimsical, but it’s the kind of campy Halloween fun that I still love, so it’s another on the list that I (at least try to) watch at least once this time of year.

On the gaming front, I’m not sure I have any go-to horror games, but I do always love in-game events like Hallow’s End or Junkenstein’s Revenge. And where I can, I try to at least watch VODs of others playing through some spooky fun — Game Grumps’ annual “Ghoul Grumps” videos are a newer addition to my roster, but they’re a lot of fun.

How about you, though? Are there any spooky games you play around this time of year? Or maybe some spooky shows and movies? How do you celebrate this, the spookiest of times?
