What do you do for gaming over Thanksgiving?

Look, families are great, sometimes. I mean, we’ve all got our stories — I once saw one of my aunts run away with the turkey and the whole family had to settle for the various side dishes and a roast beef my grandmother had cooked as a sop for my father, who never really liked turkey. He was so happy. Everyone else was miserable. So yeah, families can be great, but then sometimes they can kind of wreck up our plans.

So I won’t pretend here — we’re all gamers here, but the Thanksgiving holiday can make actually playing games kind of hard, especially games like an MMO such as World of Warcraft. Games tend to take chunks of our time and it’s really hard to schedule them — Thanksgiving week always wreaked havoc on my raiding schedule, for example.

In my current life, of course, I live up in America’s hat — so I had my Thanksgiving back in October, and am typing this while just having a normal dinner with my immediate family and not the astonishing feast y’all might be partaking in. But still, I know that on Canadian Thanksgiving (we just call it Thanksgiving) I tend to not get to play much, if at all — there are things to do, meals to prepare, dishes to wash and put away, food comas to be entered into. I personally just write that day off entirely and let myself resume play once it’s all finally over.

So I turn to you, my friends, both the Americans currently suffering from an excess of pies and side dishes — and maybe even a turkey, who knows — and those of us for who November does not have a feast of gorging at the tail end. Did you get to play any games? Were they good? Did you have fun? What kind of games, and for how long?
