How to get to Aberrus raid entrance in Dragonflight patch 10.1

Aberrus the Shadowed Crucible, the second raid of Dragonflight, will open to all difficulties on May 8. Here’s how to get to the entrance.

Located at the northern end of the new Zaralek Cavern zone, which will open when patch 10.1 drops on May 2, the entrance to Aberrus is simple to access. With the nine initial Dragonriding skills acquired, you can fly all the way to the instance from any of the entrances to the Cavern without stopping. Except for parts of the the Zaqali Caledera section, there seems to be no danger of encountering ground-to-air defenses, unlike the skies around the Obsidian Citadel or Dragonbane Keep. Acquiring the Obsidian Rest flight path to the southeast of the instance will make future visits more convenient.

Heading to Aberrus by ground travel

Even without Dragonriding, the instance is simple enough to reach. From Loamm, the initial quest hub for the zone, you can ride north to the raid entrance without much challenge — bar fording some lava — for most of the way. Keep to the roads and make sure your mount is equipped with Comfortable Rider’s Barding to avoid getting dismounted, or things might get a little dicey. Watch out for a couple of Zaqali Berserkers when entering the Battlefield Ruins and ride hard through Brimstone Garrison to avoid getting swarmed by guards and other mobs until reaching the safety of the Aberrus Approach. At the Battlefield Ruins, you can turn right to make your way to the Obsidian Rest and snag a convenient flight path.

Aberrus is the locked-away laboratory and proving ground of the Neltharion, once the noble Earth-Warder and aspect of the Black Dragonflight, where he succumbed to the influence of the Old Gods. Sealed away and forgotten for thousands of years, Aberrus is now the target of those intent on claiming its secrets — and the power they promise. Adventurers must ensure these secrets don’t fall into the wrong hands.

Wing 1, The Discarded Works, features bosses Kazzara the Hellforged, The Amalgamation Chamber, and The Forgotten Experiments. For more information about the complete raid unlock schedule and other topics, see our patch 10.1 coverage.
