Pre-register for Warcraft Rumble and get a mechanical kobold pack!

Warcraft Rumble is inching closer to an official release, and anyone who pre-registers the game on the app store will get some extra goodies. Blizzard will give anyone who signs up to get the game a new skin for the Kobold Gold Miners, a more mechanical skin for their towers, a Mecha-Kobold player portrait, and a Mecha-Kobold emote. You can pre-register either on the Apple App store or the Google Play store depending on your platform of choice.

It makes sense for Rumble to make this first reskin a Kobold Gold Miner. That unit is present in every army you put together no matter what units you’ve chosen, so your dedication will be showcased immediately. I just wonder if the Mecha-Kobolds will yell about not taking their lightbulbs instead of their candles.

Currently, Warcraft Rumble is only running a soft launch in select countries. People playing from the Philippines, Canada, Australia, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Norway have been able to drop their minis and battle some of Warcraft’s most iconic characters during this initial limited rollout. Hopefully, this means that the rest of the world can jump in on the action soon enough and experience the joyous chaos supplied by this mobile game for themselves.

Don’t worry if you forget to pre-register the game — it looks like anyone who plays in the first two weeks of the game will get the rewards, too. All you have to do to collect is complete the tutorial and defeat Hogger — which doesn’t take that long. You’ll be sending robot Kobolds to mine your gold for you in no time!

This is the first that we’ve seen of any of the units in Rumble getting alternate skins. All of the units that have made it in are already such stand-out designs that I cannot wait to see what they may do with them. Are we going to see a full Hallow’s End set for the Alliance? Fully mechanical Beast armies? All I know is that I hope that at least some new skins will be available through gameplay or other simple free promotions, like this Mecha-Kobold, and not strictly through real money purchases.
