How to get to the Emerald Dream in WoW patch 10.2
World of Warcraft patch 10.2 is now live, giving us access to a whole new zone: the Emerald Dream. The first time you venture there, the campaign quest will guide you, sending you to Ancient Bough and though a portal into an instanced zone. Unlike the last zone added to Dragonflight, Zaralek Cavern, you can’t fly directly from Valdrakkan to the new questing area and raid.
So how do you get back to the Emerald Dream? It’s easier than you think.
How to unlock the portal to the Emerald Dream
The first time you head to the Emerald Dream you need to fly to the Ohn’ahran Plains. You’ll head through a portal and be asked to complete a short series of quests that rewards you with a new mount, the Flourishing Whimseydrake, and a portal directly from Valdrakkan to the Central Encampment in the Emerald Dream.
This portal is unlocked account-wide, so any alts that head out to explore the new zone have access to it before they even complete the first quest. (So be aware that you may need to pop out to the Ancient Bough to hand it in to avoid being blocked on quest progression.)
Engineers have the added benefit that the Wyrmhole Generator: Dragon Isles has had a firmware upgrade and has added the Emerald Dream to its list of possible destinations.
Where is the portal to the Emerald Dream in Valdrakken?
The new Valdrakkan portal is located on a small island behind the bank, near the Emerald Enclave. It is flanked by two columns and does not currently appear on the Valdrakkan map. It might take a couple of uses before you remember exactly where it is, but it is much much faster than flying to Ancient Bough to move between the two zones.

Good luck!
