When does Diablo 3 Season 29 end? Wrap up by January 7!
Diablo 3 Season 29 kicked off on September 15, introducing the title’s final original seasonal theme — Visions of Enmity. Players have enjoyed the challenges introduced by the new Solo Self Found mode, paragon cap, and Visions themselves — Nephalem Rift-esque realms filled with powerful monsters and their unique difficult aspects. Sadly, no seasonal theme lasts forever — Season 29 ends Sunday, January 7, 2024.
What’s coming next? The Diablo team first provided details on future Seasons in its Season 29 preview post. Past Diablo 3 Season lengths have varied widely, from Season 28’s 28 weeks and 2 days (about seven months) to Season 2 running less than two months. Moving forward, D3 will have simpler Seasons that highlight “iconic themes and features from Seasons past” and rotate about every three months.
Patch 2.7.7’s PTR ran from December 5 to 12. Normally, this kicks off our cycle for the final month of the PTR season; however, there have been no updates on the D3 forums or via social media. This leaves us a bit in the lurch for our standard milestones. Since the holidays fall squarely in the middle of our projected window, we’re going to push some dates out:
- PTR start — Tuesday, December 5
- PTR end — Tuesday, December 12
- Season end alert — Friday, January 5, 2024
- Season end date — Sunday, January 7
Thanks to the holidays, there’s been a whole month between when the PTR kicked off, and when the current season ends!
Patch 2.7.7 is focused on quality of life changes — the permanent introduction of the Altar of Rites and the Visions of Enmity into the game as well as tuning for all class armor sets. Season 30 sets the tone for D3‘s returning content moving forward with the return of the Lords of Hell theme. So hustle to wrap up the Diablo 3 seasonal journey and earn your purple raven friend before it’s too late. See you in Sanctuary!
