Diablo 4 Season 3: Conquer the creations of Zoltun Kulle in Season of the Construct
With exactly a week before launch, we have the first details for Diablo 4 Season 3: Season of the Construct (aka the Season of the Orange Text). Deep beneath the swirling sands of the deserts, the demon Malphas is amassing an elementally powered army to conquer Sanctuary, and of course it’s up to us to stop him.
So join us, as we explore these first details for our coming adventures deep under the sands of Kehjistan. This is what we know about Diablo 4 Season 3 so far.
A new threat lurks deep beneath the sands of Kehjistan, where the Loom, an ancient technology—designed by Zoltun Kulle and Ayuzhan of Caldeum—has been usurped by the forces of evil. The Demon Malphas is responsible for twisting the Loom for his cruel whims. Zoltun’s former companion Ayuzhan leads you through the treacherous Vaults, desperate to stop the formidable Malphas and his deadly constructs from overtaking Sanctuary.
Here are the major features in Diablo 4 Season 3:
- Customize your robotic Seneschal Companion: Acquire a Seneschal Companion during the Seasonal questline by unlocking the power of the Loom. The Seneschal is a unique Construct companion; customize your Seneschal’s powers with a system similar to Season 2‘s Vampiric Powers, by using Governing and Tuning Stones in the Rune panel. Level up your existing stones (and earn some XP!) by fusing duplicate stones together.
- Gain a new base of operations in Gatehall: The starting point for Season 3, the Gatehall is a town center situated underneath Kehjistan functioning as both our base of operations for this season and our entry to access the Vaults which hold the key to conquering the power of Zoltun Kulle’s Loom.
- Explore Zultun Kulle’s Vaults: Where the Seneschal is the helper of the season, the Vaults are the challenge. They’re specialized dungeons, holding a variety of traps, elemental hazards, and constructs (a new monster family for D4). The Zoltun’s Warding blessing and Pearls of Warding improve the rewards granted from the Vault, but also increase the risks you can fall prey to! At World Tier 3, the Nightmare Dungeon form of Vaults unlocks, with their own Vault sigils to craft at the Occultist (also using Pearls of Warding).
And of course, what would a major D4 patch be without the quality-of-life improvements we know and love? Some changes will also be coming to the base game with Season 3:
- Helltides will be persistently active, with a 5-minute rest once per hour.
- An additional Stash tab is joining the mix for us gear hoarders.
- W-A-S-D movement is now available (finally!) without having to apply custom mappings.
- New Respec Mode makes build updates incredibly easier without having to do a full refund and starting from scratch.
More information is coming in the Developer Update Livestream on January 18, with subsequent full patch notes for the Season of the Construct expected on January 19. This looks to be another incredible season, and it starts January 23!
