All of the rewards for the Diablo 4 Lunar Awakening event, now live!

The next Diablo 4 holiday has just begun, so join us, wanderers of Sanctuary, for the first Lunar Awakening! From February 6 to February 20, Lunar Awakening adds colorful icons of Xiansai and  powerful new Shrines on both Eternal and Seasonal realms. And of course the event comes with new rewards to earn: so let’s explore all the goodies, rewards, and bonuses available to us during the Lunar Awakening.

First, the Lunar Awakening’s reward system looks very familiar; if you played Season 2, you’ll recognize the Ancestral Favor board from the Season of Blood’s Blood Harvest. Earn Ancestral Favor by defeating monsters while empowered by Lunar Shrines, which also grant you 50% bonus XP (multiplicative), 30% increased movement speed, and “a plethora of buffs.” Unlike the last holiday — Midwinter’s Blight — rewards are meted out as you level your standing with the Ancestors. And you can explore those rewards with Ying-Yue, the leader of the Lunar Night Market, located in Ked Bardu.

Ancestral Favor has ten levels. Each reward tier grants gold (1,285,000 across all 10 tiers) and something else, alternating between six Lunar Awakening-themed cosmetics and four Awakened caches (containing a collection of “highly valuable rewards” such as Ancestor’s Favor Nightmare Dungeon sigils and armor).

These are the Ancestral Favor rewards:

• Rank 1 — 10,000 gold and a Greater Awakened Spoils cache.
• Rank 2 — 25,000 gold and the Lunar Scepter wand cosmetic.
• Rank 3 — 50,000 gold and a Greater Awakened Spoils cache.
• Rank 4 — 75,000 gold and The Dragon’s Courage two-handed axe cosmetic.
• Rank 5 — 100,000 gold and a Greater Awakened Spoils cache.
• Rank 6 — 125,000 gold and the Moonshot Bow bow cosmetic.
• Rank 7 — 150,000 gold and a Greater Awakened Spoils cache.
• Rank 8 — 200,000 gold and The Dragon’s Tapestry body marking cosmetic.
• Rank 9 — 250,000 gold and The Moon’s Bounty mount trophy cosmetic.
• Rank 10 — 300,000 gold and the Moonborn Stallion mount.

But the event isn’t just about rewards. The Lunar Awakening is all about buffs you can collect throughout Sanctuary. Here’s what’s happening during Lunar Awakening:

• The aforementioned XP and speed bonuses while you have Shrine buffs.
• Augmented shrine effects, granting an enhanced version of a regular shrine buff on top of the Lunar buff.
• Miserly spirit spawns at Shrines, letting you immediately enjoy your particular buffs.
• Lunar Awakening-themed Whisper bounties.
• Lunar Awakening-themed cosmetic gear in the paid in-game shop.
• Ancestor’s Favor Nightmare Dungeon sigils, with an Ancestor’s Favor dungeon affix which guarantees only Lunar Shrines spawn for that dungeon.

The Ancestor’s Favor sigils are especially exciting. In addition to the extra Shrines, completing the Nightmare Dungeon earns you 10% bonus Glyph XP. And all Nightmare Dungeon Sigils with the Ancestor’s Favor Affix will retain that affix once the event has ended — glorious for that seasonal journey goal of Rank 21 glyphs!
