Which World of Warcraft character should glow up next?

World of Warcraft’s graphics have come a long way since the early days of the game. Think of the current (at least, theoretically) king of the Alliance, Anduin Wrynn. He’s gone from a geometric hodgepodge of a 10 year old at launch to the scruffy, melancholic wanderer of The War Within’s trailer. In the last 20 years, Anduin has both grown up and received a big glow up. [Ed’s note: oh no he’s hot.]

Anduin’s not the only one who has seen some significant visual changes. His buddy Wrathion first showed up in Cataclysm and has gone from a freshly hatched whelping, to teenager, and now the “stupid sexy dragon” Visage form we have known and loved since Anduin decked him in Battle for Azeroth. The two princes have indeed grown up, right along the rest of us.

Dragonflight also treated us to some impressive visual refreshes of the Dragon aspects. Clothing, makeup, even facial geometry — characters that have been around for over a decade were tuned up for their new time in the limelight. Similarly, Jaina received outfit and aesthetics changes during Battle for Azeroth to reflect her Kul’Tiran heritage and new role as Lord Admiral, and Tyrande embraced her grittier side as the Night Warrior, avatar of Elune’s vengeance.

We even know a coming important character that will seem some aesthetic changes — Xal’atath. And not just changing from the Blade of the Black Empire to a spirit; we know from the Worldsoul Saga announcement that her commandeered (dead) elf body will look different to reflect her coming role as the Harbinger. She almost looked like a dark, Void-fueled Kael’thas.

It’s not just the superstar characters that should receive new, fancy looks. Even the auctioneers of Orgrimmar and Stormwind deserve have the chance to get some buffed up pixels. Personally, I want to see a fresh version of Tess Greymane, rogue extraordinaire and future queen of Gilneas. I think she deserves an appearance that combines her role as Genn’s heir with being a practical fighter in her own right. No flimsy tiaras, please.

Now tell me — when will we get an updated Dagran Thaurissan to match his description at Lor’themar and Thalyssra’s wedding? Is it time for Giramar and Galadin (sons of Vereesa and Rhonin) to receive teenage half-elf models in game like their cousin Arator? Should Falstad Wildhammer get some feathers to match the new dwarf customizations? What WoW character would you like to receive a glow up next?
