When does Overwatch 2 Season 11 start?

Season 11 of Overwatch 2 is on the horizon, bringing with it a fresh Battle Pass, new possible events and tie-ins, and new rewards to be won. Announced in a very short teaser clip on Twitter, we expect Season 11, called Ultrawatch, to kick off on June 20 — and make sure to mark your calendar, because yes, that is a Thursday.

The Ultrawatch theme is based on tokusatsu like Super Sentai, and it makes me want to have a big bowl of Lucio-os in my jammies on a Saturday morning. In addition to a squad of skins representing the “good guys” — Genji, Cassidy, Ana, Sojourn, and Hammond — the Mythic skin this season is Calamity Empress Ashe as the archvillain she always wanted to be.

Beyond Ultrawatch, we’ll be getting a new Push game mode map in this season. Runasapi is set in Peru, which likely means there are going to be some teasers about support hero Ilari’s backstory to be found in the environment. Colosseo, one of the existing Push maps, will also be getting a revamp in Season 11. The latest developer update suggests that tweaks could be forthcoming for several other maps — Dorado, Circuit Royale, Havana, and Numbani — but it didn’t give a specific timeline for when those changes would be rolling out.

In terms of gameplay events, Season 11 kicks off with a Community Crafted mode, featuring tuning from several notable community members. This mode will be in the Arcade until July 9. Quick Play: Hacked will also return in Season 11. Though we don’t have exact details on this yet, it seems like the play will be quite different from last time’s Hacked twist. Soldier: 76 and Kiriko join the roster of Heroes who have a Hero Mastery course, though it’s unclear exactly when these will roll out. Season 11 will include the Summer Games event, so fans of Lucioball and Winston’s Beach Volleyball have plenty to look forward to, including some new Lifeguard skins to really complete the theme.

Also occurring during Season 11 is the BCRF charity skin sale for Pink Mercy and Rose Gold Mercy. These skins aren’t really tied to Season 11 per se, but they’re so coveted — and it’s available for such a short time — that it really bears repeating.
