What franchise or game style would you like to see added to the LEGO gaming universe?

The recent Summer Game Fest showcase included the announcement of LEGO Horizons Adventures, which got me thinking about what sort of games I might like to see done in the LEGO gaming universe.

We already have LEGO Fortnight, sooooo many LEGO Star Wars games, LEGO The Incredibles, LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, LEGO DC Super Heroes, LEGO Jurassic Park, LEGO Indiana Jones, LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean, LEGO Lord of the Rings, any many more. You start to wonder if there are any franchises or game styles they haven’t tried yet.

Part of the magic of these games is the stylized graphics and the way enemies explode into a rain of little cubes when defeated. Because they don’t have a hyper-realistic look and feel to them, they are far more forgiving of asking the games to do things you wouldn’t normally expect a person to do.

What would you think of some cubed survival horror? Potential candidates include Fallout, or Alone in the Dark, or Resident Evil. How about a game themed around Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos or Edgar Allen Poe’s short stories. Would plastic tentacles be as frightening as slime-dripping realistic appendages?

How about a series of mystery stories where you are the detective? You could try Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, or even Professor Layton or Sam and Max? The world of plastic bricks allows us to visit animated characters as an option just as easily one from well-loved fiction detectives that have been seen in movies and TV for decades.

How about a setting they haven’t done to date? A Cyberpunk game could be nice, or for an entirely different change of pace, House of Dragons or Bridgerton. Maybe going even further afield we could try Constantine, or Harry Dresden, or Supernatural, or Doctor Who. The bricks allow us to step into fantastical and historical settings just as easily — there’s no sets to be built or special effects to be budgets for.

What LEGO games have you already tried and loved? What games might get you to give them a try in LEGO if you haven’t already?
