It’s the day after The War Within’s launch, but it’s also maintenance day — servers now live!

Having a Monday WoW expansion launch means that maintenance day comes fast, and this morning’s maintenance window is a little longer than usual: the World of Warcraft servers will be offline from 7am to 9am pacific. The servers are now back online and we haven’t seen any noticeable problems now that the game is running again.

Tuesday morning maintenance is typically just an hour long, so this maintenance is slightly longer than average, with no details on what may be changing (if anything). Though, after a busy weekend in early access and a crowded — but mostly stable — launch day, it’s likely Blizzard has identified a few extra issues to take care during the regular maintenance cycle. We’ve already had some hotfixes and changes to Dragonflight set bonuses since launch, but today’s maintenance didn’t roll out any new changes (that we’ve found) other than kicking off the new weekly quests.

WoW Classic got the same maintenance treatment this morning, offline from 7am to 9am, while Cataclysm Classic has the typically quick 7am to 8am maintenance schedule.

All servers came back online as scheduled, and we’re off to the (virtual) races once more!
