The decks you need to win Hearthstone’s Temporus Shift Tavern Brawl

Check your DeLoreans, hot tubs, TARDISes, and Pym particles because it’s time for A Temporus Shift Tavern Brawl. You know, if isn’t our favorite bronze dragon, Chromie, messing with the timestreams, it might be everyone’s favorite Hearthstone Infinite Dragon, Temporus. No, he’s not a pirate, despite how cool that would be. He’s just here to have a big ball of wibbly wobbly, timey-wimey fun.

Tavern Brawl basics

  • Name: A Temporus Shift
  • Description: “Time is an illusion, turn times doubly so. Build a standard deck and each turn (except the first turn this time) you’ll get an extra turn!”
  • Fun level: 1/10
  • Difficulty: 5/10
  • Replayability: 5/10
  • Format: Standard
  • Type: PVP
  • Deck: Constructed
  • Rewards: 1 Standard pack (this can contain any card from any set in the current Standard rotation)

As you might infer from the title, this Brawl is based around the Battlecry on the Legendary Priest minion, Temporus. After the first turn of the game, each player will take two turns in a row. It’s like you’re playing UNO with one other person and you’ve always got a Skip card in hand… and so do they. This small change makes cards like Doomsayer and Depth Charge are far more reliable since you can guarantee they’ll go off by dropping them on your first of your two turns. It also gives ample opportunity to set up two-turn combos to kill your opponent.

How to win A Temporus Shift Tavern Brawl

As with almost every Constructed Brawl, there are two components to winning: your deck and your piloting. The deck you’ll either make or copy one from the Internet prior to the game. In Constructed Brawls, players discover the most powerful lists very quickly. This leads to the Brawl falling into a meta structure like we see on the Ladder. In the case of a repeated Brawl, you would usually see players bring back powerful lists from the last time, but with the Standard ruleset in place for this Brawl, that won’t be an option. Piloting refers to making the right turn-to-turn decisions, which is essential to winning even if you’re using the best deck available.

This Brawl’s ruleset seems tailor made for OTK and combo decks. Hyper-aggressive decks should do well as they’ll have two turns to pour damage into the enemy. If you’re struggling to win, I’ve got decks from around the community as well as my own creation that you can try.

The latest decks for the Temporus Shift Tavern Brawl

These are the best new decks for the August 2024 edition of this Brawl.

Pirate Demon Hunter

  • Deck code:

  • This is a pure aggro deck that push out a tremendous amount of damage each turn. Sigil of Skydiving on your first turn into South Sea Captain on your second turn is just one combo this deck can pull off. Adrenaline Fiend is another solid play on your first turn as long as you get plenty of Pirates attacking on your second turn.

Egg Hunter

  • Deck code:
    AAECAR8G1/kF/ZQG8aUG/qUGjsEGr8EGDKmfBI/kBfDoBd/tBZn2BeT4BZCDBsuOBuilBoa/Bs7ABvfJBgAA
  • Mulligan hard for Sneaky Snakes, Patchwork Pals, and Titanforged Traps. With all the aggro decks in this Brawl, you need a fast start. If you can survive long enough for your Hollow Hound to heal you, you can get some great plays off your Mystery Egg.

Flood Paladin

  • Deck code:
    AAECAcreBQbBxAX0yAWN/gXHpAa6zgbm5gYMyaAEotQElPUFlfUFhY4GmY4GvI8G9ZUGzpwG1J4GkqAG3roGAAED87MGx6QG9rMGx6QG6N4Gx6QGAAA=
  • Between your Hero Power and lots of small tokens, you flood the board with minions on your first turn. On your second turn, you buff those minions as much as possible and destroy your opponent’s face.

Flood Shaman

  • Deck code:

  • This is a similar game plan to Flood Paladin. Fill your board with tokens and low cost minions. You evolve them to bigger threats through Wave of Nostalgia. You can either win just from that or add Bloodlust for even more damage.

Older decks for the Temporus Shift Tavern Brawl

Ben Hearthstone’s Unholy Death Knight

  • Deck code:
    AAECAZOOBgbhpAT47ASk7wS88ATNpQWeqgUMlrcEssEE8OMEkeQEkuQEhfYEsvcEkpMFoJkFopkFrqEFhaoFAAA=
  • Friend of the site Ben Hearthstone brings us this Unholy Death knight using Grave Strength. You build your board on one turn and play Grave Strength on your second turn to buff your minions and deal a huge amount of damage.

Rane’s Pure Paladin

  • Deck code:
    AAECAZ8FBpHsA9CsBIbiBISWBbuXBYWlBQzM6wPw9gPJoAT5pATi0wTa2QS/4gTA4gTy7QSrkwWBlgWDlgUA
  • Hearthstone Caster Manuel “Rane” Delgado made this Pure Paladin. It works similarly to Ben’s Death Knight. You take your first turn to fill the board with minions, and then use the second turn to buff them to much bigger threats.

CaHgO’s Murloc Shaman

  • Deck code:
    AAECAaoIAqjuA6bvAw6U6AOz6APd7AOV8AO1nwSroATboATVsgSywQScxwTCzgTFzgTu0wTy3QQA
  • Hearthpwn user, CaHgO, brings us a Shaman deck filled with Murlocs. The real star here is the king spell for burst damage, Bloodlust!

More A Temporus Shift deck lists

One of these decks should see you through to a victory. I even managed to get a win with my Buff Priest deck. Keep checking Hearthstone Top Decks, because there are more Tavern Brawl decks being added by the hour. If you find another great list, share it with us in the comments.

Overall, this was not my favorite Brawl. It’s full of the OTK and aggressive decks that I don’t particularly enjoy playing (or playing against). At least the games can be quick, so if you need to knock some quests, this is a good option. Good luck getting this week’s pack!
