Ahoy there, a swashbuckling trove of new rewards lines the WoW Trading Post this September!

The first Trading Post for The War Within era of World of Warcraft makes landfall this September and spices up the usual cadence of monthly offerings. If you didn’t play WoW’s Plunderstorm battle royale event earlier this year but really wanted to earn some of the event rewards then you’re in luck because some of the event rewards have made their way to the Trading Post! There are also some new and returning armor and weapon transmogs if the pirate-aesthetic isn’t your thing.

Let’s look at what’s on sale this month.

A new Trading Post location is in Dornogal

The Trading Post has also expanded to the Isle of Dorn, giving some extra convenience to players with access to The War Within. This new location is in Dornogal underneath the Flight Master’s landing spot between The Coreway and The Forgegrounds. The Dornogal Trading Post has representatives from both factions, granting access to both Alliance and Horde players.

September Trading Post mount

The mount available this month is Keg Leg’s Radiant Crocolisk, a new Plunderstorm-themed mount, for 600 Trader’s Tender.

September Trading Post transmog and items

A small selection of Plunderstorm-themed items is available at the Trading Post this month including a full ensemble set, some individual armor from the Swabbie set, and Plunderlord weapon pieces. There are also some items that are pirate-adjacent, specifically a new Blahaj hat!

September Trading Post pet

The Trading Post pet this month is Claudius, a golden recolor of Glamrok, for 330 Trader’s Tender.

September Trading Post bonus reward

Completing the Trading Post objective this month will reward you with the Plunderlord’s Golden Crocolisk mount, a re-color of Keg Leg’s Crocolisk. While this is a step in the right direction for the bonus rewards, and infinitely better than a target backpiece, this still feels more like a cop out than a reward.

Seeing the Plunderstorm rewards added to the Trading Post rotation is a good move because it (somewhat) reduces the FOMO on rewards players want to get but the only way they can get it is by forcing them to play things they have no interest in. I think this system can expand for the better by making the event items that do rotate in more affordable — limited time items shouldn’t cost more than the amount of Trader’s Tenders a player can earn in any given month. It might be time for Blizzard to increase the amount of Trader’s Tender that players can earn by playing in-game, instead of lumping them into to Battlenet packages for real currency.
