While the Trolli gummies crossover promotion with WoW and D4 offers neat rewards, it’s leaving some fans sour
World of Warcraft and Trolli sour gummies have teamed up for a promotion where, by sending your receipt for any Trolli brand gummies, you can redeem for your very own Gummi Battlepet– a cute little worm that fits in well with Azj-Kahet aesthetic. You also have the ability to gain weapons transmogs for Diablo 4 — which can be redeemed now, but will be added at the release of Vessel of Hatred — as well as items for Sea of Thieves. While there have been many cross promotions with Blizzard’s IP over the years, from the Mountain Dew Warbot battle pets to the time you could get a cup at Taco Bell with Tracer’s face on it, this time fans are finding the promotion a little hard to swallow.
A big issue seems to be the addition of three unique tabards, that can only be obtained if the Trolli gummies purchased at specific stores.
- The Classic Lively Tabard, a green tabard available from Dollar General
- The Classic Brick Tabard, a dull red tabard available from Walgreens
- The Classic Crimson Tabard, a vibrant red tabard available from Circle K
The addition of these three tabards is leading to FOMO for transmog hunters who are faced with an issue of availability and the promotion just plain not working properly. In order to redeem your code, you must provide a photo of the receipt showing that you purchased a Trolli product at one of these specific stores within the designated timeframe. If there happens to be any deviation, your claim will be rejected. There have been reports of receipts being rejected as the dates on them were not clear enough, for example. As for availability, these stores aren’t available everywhere across the United States, let alone in other countries. I personally went to the only two Circle Ks within 100 miles to find out their receipts were branded for the gas stations attached, leaving me without the Crimson Tabard and a lot of sour grape gummies. This promotion continues until February 2025, but there are those who will be left out simply by the nature of how it is run.
There is a similar promotion currently going on at Kroger Supermarkets where, if you spend $30 with your rewards card, you can trade in points from one of the linked programs for the Classic Sunny Tabard. While this may be an issue for the many people who are not near a Kroger brand market, it is possible to achieve this tabard on an online mini game that is available even outside of the United States, making this one feel at least a little fairer.
