With Darkmoon Faire and Timewalking, this week is the best for the Mastercraft Kalu’ak Fishing Pole

The Masterkraft Kalu’ak Fishing Pole has been a prized item among fishers since it was added to the game in Wrath of the Lich King. Recently, it has made a come back for having a rather special ability to go along with it’s unique appearance– the fishing pole grants unlimited underwater breathing. The only thing stopping you from claiming this fishing rod was the  rep grind to exalted with the Kalu’ak Tuskaar. A rep grind made a little easier with this week’s overlap of Wrath Timewalking and the Darkmoon Faire.

With the Timewalking buff of 50% for the week plus the 10% rep buff of the Faire from Whee! from either riding the carousel or rollercoaster, or from using the Darkmoon Top Hat you will get a nice boost to being well on your way to hitting exalted and never having to worry about pesky things like breathing underwater again.

For a newer character who skipped this part of Northrend, Kalu’ak have quests in Kaskala in lower Borean Tundra, Kamgua in western Howling Fjord, and Moa’kai in Southern Dragonblight. You can even hop on a turtle that travels between all three sites to find them all. After completing the starting quests, there are three dailies available; Prepping for the Worst, The Way to his Heart…, & Planning for the Future.

Completing these would net you 1,500 rep a day, but this will be boosted by the events. once you have hit exalted, you can head to Tanika in the Howling Fjord or Sairuk in Dragonblight to purchase your fishing pole for 30 gold– a steal!  Sadly, there are no Marks of the Kalu’ak that can be purchased at the Timewalking vendor to just buy up rep with your Timewarped Badges.

The Masterkraft Kalu’ak Fishing Pole is great to have these days as it’s underwater breathing effects work in underwater delves. Now you don’t need to worry about buying potions, being raised as a forsaken, or asking a warlock for a buff. While going back to do dailies in old content is never appealing, this double up of rep buffs will make it easier. The Darkmoon Faire runs through Sunday while Timewalking Wrath of the Lich King goes through next Tuesday.
