How to get Seething Opals in Diablo 4 Season 6

Seething Opals are a new consumable elixir introduced as part of Diablo 4 Season 6 and are designed to give a more focused route of obtaining different gear and materials. They’re directly tied to completing the Season 6 Realmwalker public event and since these events appear throughout Sanctuary’s five regions in 15-minute intervals, there are plenty of chances for players to get these new consumables.

Be aware that players do not need to own the Vessel of Hatred expansion in order participate in the seasonal activity unless it takes place in Nahantu. If you do own Vessel of Hatred, however, there’s one extra Seething Opal you can get, which improves the drop rate of Runes for Runewords. Other than that, the event is the same for all players.

Using Seething Opals requires a bit of extra work but because of the different effects they grant, they’re worth it. Here’s how to get each kind in Season 6!

How to get Seething Opals

The first step to getting Seething Opals is to participate and complete an active Realmwalker event. When the event ends, a portal will spawn and grant you access to the Seething Realm, a mini-dungeon filled with enemies that you can fight through to reach another portal called a Realm Gate, which lets you choose Seething Opal rewards cache in exchange for a price.

At the end of each Seething Realm is a treasure room called the Seething Wellspring that contains a chest which rewards you with more gear, gold, and the Seething Opal consumable based on your choice at the Realm Gate.

Because Realmwalkers spawn so frequently, it isn’t very difficult to earn Opals — all you have to do is track down the next event, defeat the Realmwalker, and complete a dungeon.

All Seething Opal types and costs

There are five different types of Seething Opals you can choose, each with a different effect and a different cost at the Realm Gate:

  • Seething Opal of Equipment — 25 Murmuring Obols
    • Enemies routinely drop additional Equipment.
  • Seething Opal of Materials — 5 Murmuring Obols
    • Enemies routinely drop additional Herbs and Crafting Materials.
  • Seething Opal of Gold — 1 Iron Chunk
    • Enemies routinely drop additional Gold.
  • Seething Opal of Torment (Torment Difficulty I and higher) — 200 Sigil Powder
    • Enemies routinely drop additional Artificer’s Stones and occasionally drop Boss Summoning Items or Infernal Compasses.
  • Seething Opal of Socketables (Requires Vessel of Hatred and Penitent Difficulty or higher) — 3 Angelbreath
    • Enemies routinely drop additional Gem Fragments and occasionally drop Runes.

Universally, Seething Opal lasts for 30 minutes and grants a 15% bonus to experience earned and any kills under the effect of a Seething Opal grants reputation with Crusader Damond, the Zakarum Remnants vendor in Zarbinzet. Only one Seething Opal can be active at a time and it will drop its designated item at your current level.

The Seething Opal of Socketables is the only one that requires players to have the Vessel of Hatred expansion. If you don’t have Vessel of Hatred, you can still earn the other four as long as the Realmwalker event isn’t taking place in Nahantu!
