Surprise Thursday morning WoW maintenance (but only for an hour) — servers now online!

The War Within patch 11.0.5 rolled out this week, and while I’ve been enjoying the anniversary the launch has been a bit rocky. The game is certainly playable, but there are more than a few bugs, and the anniversary Blackrock Depths raid is tuned such that you need a group geared better than what it drops to easily clear it. (Plus there’s not a single piece of gear inside that has mastery, if that happens to be your thing.) It’s a little less fun than expected.

So perhaps patch 11.0.5 troubles are why the World of Warcraft servers went down for an off-schedule maintenance this morning from 7am – 8am pacific — but The War Within servers are now back online.

Servers are stable, but no word on what (if anything) changed during the maintenance. We’ll keep our eyes open for any more news, but for now I’m off to adventure in Khaz Algar.
