Surprise Thursday morning WoW maintenance (but only for an hour)

The War Within patch 11.0.5 rolled out this week, and while I’ve been enjoying the anniversary the launch has been a bit rocky. The game is certainly playable, but there are more than a few bugs, and the anniversary Blackrock Depths raid is tuned such that you need a group geared better than what it drops to easily clear it. (Plus there’s not a single piece of gear inside that has mastery, if that happens to be your thing.) It’s a little less fun than expected.

So perhaps patch 11.0.5 troubles are why the World of Warcraft servers are down for an off-schedule maintenance this morning from 7am – 8am pacific.

It’s not a long maintenance, and maybe we’ll see some of these lingering bugs addressed when the servers pop back online later this morning. I’ll keep you updated right here.
