Where to find the Elemental Rune Dungeons vendor in Cataclysm Classic
Elemental Rune Dungeons go live on October 29, 2024 as part of the staggered rollout for Cataclysm Classic Phase 3. Elemental Rune Dungeons function like Titan Rune Dungeons by adding an optional difficulty modifier to certain Cataclysm Classic dungeons but instead of offering the previous phases raid gear, players instead will earn a new currency called Fissure Stone Fragments to buy their preferred gear instead. Dungeon bosses drop 2 Fissure Stone Fragments each by default and if all bosses have been killed in the dungeon, the final boss will drop 3 Fragments.
A brand new vendor in charge of selling players this gear in exchange for these fragments, Kyanite Stonetender, and their vendor pool has been added as part of the Cataclysm Classic PTR’s latest round of testing. Their location, and their prices, may change once Phase 3 officially goes live but right now here’s where you can expect to find them and how much their wares cost!
Where you can find Kyanite Stonetender in Stormwind and Orgrimmar and what you can buy from them
Kyanite Stonetender can be found in both Stormwind and Orgrimmar, in similar places near the each faction’s Justice points vendors — Old Town in Stormwind and Grommash Hold in Orgrimmar. They will sell you certain level 85 Normal and Heroic Tier 11 gear in exchange for the Fissure Stone Fragments you get from the dungeon bosses. Since this is still in PTR testing, the prices are variable and could change once the phase goes live so we’ve laid out the ballpark cost of each armor type and until the prices are solidified at launch:
- 80 Fragments — Heroic Armor and Trinkets
- 60 Fragments — Heroic Shoulders and Chest Armor
- 50 Fragments — Heroic Trinkets, Necklaces, Bracers, and Belts
- 32 Fragments — Normal Head and Shoulder Armor
- 20-30 Fragments — 1H and 2H Weapons
- 15 Fragments — Off-hand Weapons
Satchels
In a change from the Titan Rune Dungeons vendor, Kyanite Stonetender also sells a new item called Satchels that drop a specific gear piece and have a chance to drop one of the three following mounts: Reins of the Drake of the North Wind, Reins of the Vitreous Stone Drake, or Reins of the Drake of the South Wind.
These mounts have notoriously low drop rates (around 1% each) and while we don’t yet know the drop rate from these Satchels, the low price gives players more chances at getting one of these mounts to drop.
