Where to find and how to complete the secondary profession quests on WoW Classic anniversary realms

Cooking, Fishing, and First Aid are the three secondary profession skills in World of Warcraft Classic that players should consider levelling in their new adventures on fresh anniversary realms. These skills can provide health, mana, and skill benefits that can come in handy at all stages of the game and players aren’t limited to learning a set number of secondary professions like they are with primary professions.

Each of these professions cap out at two plateaus — skill level 125 and skill level 225 — and require a different form of training to advance beyond. At skill level 125, players need to obtain an item to open up the skill cap to 225. At 225, players will then need to complete a quest to raise the cap to its final level of 300. Each quest will require different materials, time, and currency investments, and could take you to places hazardous to your character’s health depending on your faction.

We’ve got you covered with the basics you need to know about each profession’s quests including where to find them and what you’ll need to complete them.

Cooking

At cooking skill cap 125 and character level 20, players can buy the Expert Cookbook for 1 gold which will raise their cooking skill cap to 225. Alliance players can purchase this book from Shandrina in Ashenvale (49, 67) and Horde players can get it from Wulan in Shadowprey Village, Desolace (26, 69).

When you reach the 225 skill cap and character level 35, the following breadcrumb quests will open up, I Know A Guy from Daryl Riknussun in Ironforge (60, 38) and To Gadgetzan You Go from Zamja in Orgrimmar (57, 53). You can ignore these quests if you want because both take you to Dirge Quikcleave in Gadgetzan, Tanaris (52, 28) who will give you the actual quest, Clamlette Surprise, and to complete it you need these ingredients:

Bring these ingredients ahead of time to Dirge and you can instantly complete the quest and raise your cooking skill to 300. There are several cooking recipes that are available at the mid-levels from vendors in (mostly) neutral areas that you should try to get your hands on:

Fishing

Once you hit fishing level 125, visit Old Man Heming in Booty Bay, Stranglethorn Vale (27, 77). He sells the book Expert Fishing – The Bass and You to players of both factions for 1 gold and it’ll raise your skill level to 225. At level 35 and skill level 225, players be to get a quest from Nat Pagle in Dustwallow Marsh (58, 60) called Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme. Even though the minimum requirement is level 35, this quest is marked as a level 45 quest so you should tackle it around that level. To complete it you need to catch these specific fish that only found certain zones:

  • Feralas Ahi in Feralas. Fished from the lake on the main road, right between Dire Maul and The High Wilderness (62, 51).
  • Misty Reed Mahi Mahi in the Swamp of Sorrows. This one can be caught anywhere along the zones coast.
  • Sar’theris Striker in Desolace. Fished along the zones coast.
  • Savage Coast Blue Sailfin in Stranglethorn Vale. Can be fished along the western coast of the zone (Vile Reef side).

First Aid

The Expert First Aid – Under Wraps raises the First Aid skill level cap from 125 to 225. It costs 1 gold and can be purchased from Deneb Walker in Stromgarde Keep, Arathi Highlands (27, 58) by Alliance players. Horde players can buy this book from Balai Lok’Wein in Brackenwall Village, Dustwallow Marsh (36, 30).

Each vendor also sells bandage manuals you’ll need to buy to keep levelling your First Aid skills:

At level 35 and skill level 225, the breadcrumb quests Alliance Trauma and Horde Trauma become available from Nissa Firestone in Ironforge (54, 58) and Arnok in The Valley of Spirits, Orgrimmar (34, 84), respectively. You don’t have to pick up these breadcrumb quest and can instead head to your factions associated Triage quest. Alliance’s Triage quest is handled by Doctor Gustaf VanHowzen inside the keep on Theramore Isle (67, 48) and the Horde’s is conducted by Doctor Gregory Victor at Hammerfell, Arathi Highlands (73, 36).

Successfully completing Triage raises your First Aid skill to 300 and enables both Doctors the ability teach you how to make the following bandages at these skill levels:

  • 240 — Heavy Mageweave Bandage
  • 260 — Runecloth Bandage
  • 290 — Heavy Runecloth Bandage
