How to get and upgrade Cyrce’s Circlet in WoW patch 11.0.7

One of the biggest features of our trip to Siren Isle in WoW‘s 11.0.7 patch is the promise of a brand new shiny ring to upgrade over time and fill with special gems that have magical powers. (You know, this sounds awfully familiar, now that I think of it.) Cyrce’s Circlet, the ring in question, is intended to start at a whopping item level 639 and be upgraded to 658 — optimally powerful enough to be best-in-slot in Season 1, and competitive with Heroic raid gear in Season 2.

But how do you get Cyrce’s Circlet? How do you get gems? How do you upgrade this whole shebang?

The first part is easy to answer, at least. Once the patch is live, you will be able to obtain a quest called The Expedition Awaits from Dawn in Dornogal — you may recognize her as the one of the Earthen awoken after Magni fixed the Awakening Machine, infusing her with Azeroth’s power — sending us to Siren Isle. Eventually this will culminate in you plucking your new, fancy ring right out of the waiting hand of a crushed skeleton during the quest The Radiant Vault. I’m sure nothing could go wrong with that plan.

Once you have your Circlet, you’ll notice it has three gem slots for special Singing Citrines — one yellow for Thunder Citrines, one blue for Sea Citrines and one pink for Wind Citrines. There are only four gems for each socket, as well, but this time there won’t be a Zskera Vaults equivalent to grind up currency in; instead, Citrines seem to mostly come from playing the content on Siren Isle. A wild idea, I know! One of them comes not long after getting the ring — the quest Reforged Anew will give you the Windsinger’s Runed Citrine. Doing isle quests and invasion events, among other things, will reward your Singing Citrines, and unlike regular gems, you’ll learn from the quest The Circlet Calls that you can can freely remove socketed Citrines from your Circlet — so don’t accidentally destroy them by socketing a new one over them! Instead, swap them in and out and feel free to play around to find the ones you like best.

Lastly, if you’re wondering how to upgrade the Circlet, that’s also surprisingly straightforward. A series of weekly, time-gated quests on Siren Isle will reward you with Raw Singing Citrines. Each of these that you use will imbue your Circlet with further power, as well as granting you passives abilities that make exploring the isle easier. For example, week 2’s quest Dipping a Toe, in addition to providing the expected ring upgrade, will also grant you Blessing of the Seadweller, making it possible to walk on the seafloor, find treasures underwater, breathe underwater, and swim much on and around Siren Isle — as long as you have your Cyrce’s Circlet equipped.
