When is The War Within patch 11.2.5 release date — and what’s in it?
World of Warcraft has maintained a solid content cadence ever since the start of Dragonflight and the recently-revealed 2025 roadmap for The War Within demonstrates there’s no suggestion it’ll stop any time soon. The War Within patch 11.2.5 will launch the week of October 7, 2025.
Patch release consistency has improved over the past year so a default expectation of seven to eight weeks between patches seems like a safe bet. We’ve been using seven weeks as the interval before a minor patch and eight weeks for major patches for our predicted release dates, however there are a few reasons why we’re not using seven weeks from our predicted 11.2 date but instead are leaning towards eight weeks. There’s the fact that the 21st Anniversary is indicated on the roadmap so the patch needs to last long enough for the Anniversary to kick in before patch 11.2.7. Also, the roadmap itself indicates it’s coming in “autumn” and thus October 7 is where we’re landing on the Broken Isles once again.

What’s in patch 11.2.5?
The main feature of patch 11.2.5 will be the return of WoW Remix and this time the featured expansion is Legion. With ReLegion rolling out over 5 phases, also beginning October 7, it’s expected to last through all of 11.2.5 as well as patch 11.2.7.
Patch 11.2.5 will also see the return of the Turbo Boost from patch 11.1.5. As in the prior tier there will be an immediate increase in the Hero and Mythic upgrade track as well as a new item for recrafting items to a higher ilevel. During the patch (current cadence is unknown) players will be able to earn Puzzling Cartel Chips again to purchase powerful weapons and trinkets from Season 3 dungeons and the Manaforge Omega raid. It will also see the return of Warband-transferrable Valorstones, although the transfer cost is expected to remain.
The Cooldown Manager will also be getting additional features, including a new frame that allows greater control of the display of spells and buffs. This includes the ability to designate cooldowns as “essential” or “utility” and modify their display appropriately.
Finally patch 11.2.5 will see the arrival of the 21st Anniversary event, although the details of that have not yet been revealed. It is expected to mostly mimic last year’s 20th Anniversary for the most part — although it’s known some items won’t return for a few more years, but we can expect new items for this year’s celebration.
